RYAN REYNOLDS UPDATE #45 / DEADPOOL UPDATE #23

Despite the abdomination that was Deadpool in the movie Wolverine, Reynolds is a real fan of this eccentric Marvel superhero, and he is genuinely excited about reprising this character in a movie that will (hopefully) be more true to his identity in the movie. I have no problem with Reynolds playing both Green Latern and Deadpool on the big screen.

I just can't get interested in this project or this "star"*. I already saw Reynolds play DEADPOOL, and even though his work in XMO:W amounted to nothing more than a cameo, I feel like I've had more than my fill of Reynolds in the role. He was smart mouthed without being clever. Full of himself without being cool. Are there seriously fans of Reynolds as DEADPOOL out there? If so, I'd like to hear what they saw in that film that I didn't

*and I have doubts that he'll still be one once GREEN LANTERN's BO Results come in. I've been rooting against Reynolds ever since he stole the spotlight from Mr Snipes in BLADE TRINITY, and I keep hoping that his career end game is just around the corner. He seems to have staved off defeat with his successful Rom Com work that picked him out of the post BLADE slump he'd been in, but perhaps if GL fails it will be enough to tell studios he is not a viable movie star. Everything I've seen of that film (the synopsis, stills and interviews) hints at a troubled project. I think that growing audience burn out on Super Hero films might be perfectly timed to bring it down and perhaps prevent DEADPOOL from being financed

Princess Kate, I understand the concept of...Not Liking an actor, but to root for some or all of his/her films to fail, does seem a bit extreme. I do not like...Meryl Streep as an actor, but I never wish for her to be hurt by anything.

I hope that...Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds is a big hit so that there can be more superhero films. Hopefully, Green Lantern will be a...Trilogy, so there can be more, Intergalactic Superhero films. I would love to see, Marvel Comics Captain Marvell vs both his, Kree Superiors as well as, The Skrulls, in a...Kree/Skrull war film.

I meant no disrespect to you or DEADPOOL's fans. I am speaking strictly for an audience of one: myself. I do hold grudges against certain stars (though I always try not to, because it's not fun having a movie ruined by the presence of someone you don't like). I can't help it. I don't hate Reynolds. I just don't like him as a leading man. I thought he did good work in ADVENTURE LAND, but that was very much because of the kind of role he'd been cast in. I don't want Reynolds to be banished from movie screens, but I'd rather not see him get top billing on stuff going forward.

Anyway,

As stated I'm a bit burned out on the SUPER HERO thing at this point, but that doesn't mean I desire to see your dreams crushed. I certainly do hope you get to see GL's continuing adventures in some way at some time

Ryan Reynolds... and Rob Rod together?... That is a mouthful of of Rs. They should make... a pirate movie together. [/fleed]
