Just think about that for a sec.

...then realise what a gigantic pussy Michael Bay was.
Someone really should sig this quote it's beautiful.

This whole movement can be traced back to Ken's wonderful blog highlighting the genius of this soundtrack, Dare to be Stupid being my favourite:

Put down that chainsaw and listen to me
It's time for us to join in the fight
It's time to let your babies grow up to be cowboys
It's time to let the bedbugs bite

Sage advice indeed

I cannot belive i'm more jazzed for this than I am for seeing Harry Potter tomorrow.

Every time someone posts in this thread, my circuits sizzle.

WHEN ARE WE GONNA START BUSTIN' SOME DECEPTICHOPS!?
Sadly, I will not be able to partake, folks. Have to go pick up my wife after she drops her car off to get serviced tomorrow at 9 AM.

Hopefully, I'll be available for the next one.
Or you could give her cab fare. No peer pressure.

But, Hot Rod needs you...
No worries, Don. I just called and cancelled your service appointment.
Just got a call from the wife unit. The Mother-in-Law took a very bad turn this afternoon. If I'm not online with you guys tomorrow, it's because I had to take off and be with my wife.
Aww, this isn't how it was supposed to go...

We all do!

DON! DON! DON! DON!

*starts pounding the floor like its Astrotrain*

I went from nearly sqwawking myself at nooj's "Deceptichops" quip to serious disappointment within seconds at those two posts. Really hope something miraculous comes out of nowhere and everyone can be here.

In the mean time, I'm going to dare... dare to believe.

Me too.
Okay, I think I found a suitable temp icon to replace my usual Sex Panther pic. TESTING.
Hurp durp, "Profile picture" and "avatar" are not the same thing. Anyway, Ravage!
I'll be seeing you guys in a little under 5 hours!
Good morning everyone (Good evening Rain Dog I think?)

Gutted to hear you can't make it Don. Judas, very sorry to hear that, it sounds hollow coming from a bloke on a forum but I wish you and your family the best.

I thought of something, it seems some of us may not get to hear Spike's legendary expletive. When the moment comes, feel free to post "Shit" or "No Shit" depending on whether or not you got it. We'll tally it up at the end.
Should my web browser fail to start in a few hours, I will curse, "OPEN, DAMMIT, OPEN!"
Guys you won't believe this but I'm out. I've been called to do a last minute fill in in four and a half hours time at the community radio station I do my show at and can't say no.

I'll be online while y'all are watching, but won't be able to group watch as the show is on the same time as the viewing.

I'm seriously gutted.
That suck, RD. We'll make sure you know EXACTLY what's going on every step of the way!
yea, sorry to hear you won't be able to watch.

my show got canceled so me and my girlfriend (who can't stop laughing at the nerdy level of this) is going to be watching this for the first time to see what the fuss is about.

to stay awake we are doing a movie marathon, and so far we have done, Revenge of the Nerds (part of, stupid xbox) then house of 1000 corpses, and devils rejects.

next up, L.A Confidential.

oh and I am curious as to what expletive we will be getting with this anniversary edition

It's the sort of thing that would cause one to smile knowingly... perhaps snicker a little.

But, perhaps because of the bubbling excitement, I laughed so hard at this it made me fart.

If she's no longer your girlfriend by 10:30 EST, remember that we're still here for you.

.....

Speaking of which, I want to make sure we're properly syncronized... As I type this, it is approximately 7:35am in La Paz. Which would make it 6:35am EST due to Daylight Savings Time.

Am I correct?

Morning y'all

It's 6:39 in Maryland right now so you're in the right ballpark Erix. I'm so pumped I have such a sweet set up for this. I moved my I mac into my living room and set it up on my ottoman so that I don't have to walk away from the movie to post and follow the thread.

I just popped in the disc to make sure nothing catastrophic would happen and the biggest smile formed on my face when I heard the unmistakable TRANSFORMERS...MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!

Thanx Steve...

I did the exact same thing. Popped in Disc 1... And, after the preliminary SONY BMG Home Entertainment logo screen, was rewarded with the snazzy main menu and the souped up rock and roll version of the theme song blasting through my 5.1 sound system.

I am officially pumped!

But we've still got two hours to go.

It's okay if I watch the Theatrical Trailer and TV Spots in the meantime, right? That's not cheating, is it?

Fuck it, I'm doing it. Hope no one minds.

ETA - The theatrical trailer is delightfully obnoxious. It promises an "epic adventure that will transform the summer of 1986" and goes on to list the film's "stars." It's Obvious that Orson Welles would get top billing a-la Marlon Brando. But I am pissed that neither Peter Cullen nor Frank Welker get any recognition for their great efforts.
The TV spots are equally delightful. I love how they refer to it as a "startlingly original story that begins in the year 2005" and it "will shock even the most die hard fan."

They say it stars "Leonard Nimoy and Judd Nelson" and leave it at that.

"FEATURING SONGS BY WIERD AL YANKOVICH AND STAN BUSH!"

....

Is it totally silly that I wish I could enter the sweepstakes right now? Those are some bitchin' prizes.

.....

See those Galvatron and Ultra Magnus figures?

They're in a box in NY right now.

.....

*eyes begin to water*

*goes to wash his face*

My copy features those "knowing is half the battle" shorts that were so popular in the eighties.

Gold
I think it's safe to say that the movie's 80's rock take on the Transformers theme will always remain my favorite version.
Got about 20 minutes to go.

Got my Cocoa Pebbles. Nice bowl of cold milk.

I'm all set.
i have a bowl too, but the cocoa factor is on the negative side

15min to go. got my laptop and my giggling gf ready. she lost it on the title screens theme already so i'm not sure where this is going to go

I did not realize! Just watched FLASH GORDON last night as a tribute to him. It continues this morning!

RIP DINO!

Also, I LOVE that silly cartoon chomping sound that they use inside Unicron just now. I mean, it doesn't fit at all, but it amuses me.
