2010 NFL Season - Page 33

The Post is a hole of journalistic integrity, but man if they don't have some awesome headlines. Every time the Jets or Giants lose, I eagerly click refresh on the site to see what clever title they've come up with this week.

But seriously, I want to mount that on my wall and throw darts at it from now until Judgement Day.

IF, and it is a big IF the Jets manage to win*, holy Christ, we will never hear the fucking end of it. If Jesus decided to come back, it would not be half as miraculous and headline stopping as the Jets winning.

I'm in Boston right now with my boyfriend visiting his family, and all everyone can talk about is this game.  Being from NC, I don't see anything close to this except for March Madness.  I'm going to the game on Sunday with my boyfriend, his poppa, and his uncle, so I hope it's a kickass game.

HarleyQuinn22, New York's...JET fighters will take out the...Patriot missiles, with a few, well placed bombs from Mark Sanchez, this Sunday Night.

What I think will happen this weekend...

Patriots over New York
Seahawks over Bears
Ravens over Steelers
Green Bay over Atlanta.

As much as I hate the Chargers, I dislike New England fans even more.. So I'll pull for the Jets.. But if a beat up Colts team came within 40 seconds of victory.. Then the Jets don't have a chance. Then again I thought the same last week with the Seahawks and Saints.

To get you ready for the big games this weekend, a bit of Matt Ryan:

I would expect nothing less.

On our way to No.7!

LETS GO STILLERS!

Yes, I'm rooting for the Jets over the Patriots.

Yes, it's primarily because of Kissing Suzy Kolber's Rex Ryan: Greatest Coach Ever posts.

I am not ashamed of this.

Steelers are taking alot of cheap shots.

*Arm not going forward.  I say fumble.  Go Ravens.

This lead referee looks a lot like Tom Wilkinson.

5+ minutes to drive down the field, only to miss the 3-pointer. Enjoy that half-time locker room cameraderie, Steelers.

(not meant as a dig, but man, they just can't catch a break today)

That's all right, they're making a lot of them too.

Well that was a quick momentum change. Did the TV suits come down and say too many people were switching the channel?

Ooh bobbled snap off the taint. What a meltdown.

jeez Baltimore is fuvking up big time.  Can't five the ball away so easily.  It's one thing to get the ball taken away, it's another to give it away the ways they did.

Rooting for overtime.

So are you Atlanta fans sick of hearing how the Packers are going to kick your teams ass?

68 on Pitt is a very  undisciplined player.

C'mon OT

Christ yes. I can't blame them at all for saying it, but yeah, it's tiring.

Just hope they run the football all day long.  Bears stopped in the 2nd half or they would have won.

TJ!?!?  Gotta catch that.  Bad play calling by Balt at the end.  Deep passes were dumb.

Ravens receivers had money on the Steelers.

black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow

onto the afc championship!

Quoth the Ravens? Nevermore.

Total offensive meltdown by Baltimore.  Love seeing a pissed off John Harbaugh.  Can't wait to see twin POH's (pissed off Harbaughs) next season when SF plays Baltimore.

On the to AFC Championship game to get their asses kicked by New England...which is what you'll start hearing Monday from everyone.  The Oline can't get any worse, but it just might.  To make it to the AFCCG with this Oline is nothing short of a miracle.

There are about 2-3 players on the Steelers that I absolutely hate even though I'm a Steelers fan.  Koematu (#68) is one of them, and of course, Ike Taylor is another.  Although he did have a good game today.

The third would be...? (I have a guess) smile.gif

Such a brutal loss for Baltimore. Flacco, Rice, Boldin and Whosyomama all came up very small. How do you fix that?

Roethliberger drilled that last deep ball like the receiver was a blacked-out co-ed!

You want to watch bad Oline play, watch the Bears Tackles tomorrow.

As much as I want to play an NFC Championship game at home it would give me great pleasure to see the 2 teams the talking heads drooled over all year(Eagles/Packers-3rd SD)out of the playoffs.

I know Bouldin and Whosjemezade??** dropped a couple of key passes but watching Joe Flaco play I have very little faith that the guy can make a key play when it matters. The 21-7 lead the Ravens had a halftime was due to their defense, not Flaco and the offense. I guess Flaco is their QB for the future but I honestly don't think the guy can win a SB, unless the Ravens defense is so incredible it can make up for Flaco's mediocrity ala Trent Dilfer.

Like hitting a receiver in the chest for a go-ahead touchdown in the 4th quarter? Or hitting a receiver in the chest to convert a 4th-and-18?

Those two plays alone would've made Flacco's performance look very different. The Ravens averaged 1.9 yards per run. Flacco wasn't great, but he got no help.

Flacco's not good enough to carry a team that can't catch and can't run the ball and can't stop the other team from scoring TDs in the red zone.

Guess no one's been talking about Atlanta for good reason, huh?

Only rushing 3 and a couple bad play calls at the end have just about doomed the Falcons.  I would have though FG there.

Don't give up on the run Atlanta.

I mentioned the dropped passes. I'm not saying Flaco isn't good, if not for the RAven's defense this game this game wouldn't have been close. He reminds me of Tony Romo, can look good at times, but will blow it at the end.

And I know A. Rodgers is great, but Aikman and Buck sound like they want to go down on the field and give the guy a hand job.

As a Falcons fan, it pains me to be this much in awe of Aaron Rodgers.  His release time may be the most disheartening aspect of any game that I have watched this past season.

EDIT:  35-14?  Fuck, it's over!

Now that Favre is gone announcers will need a new QB to drool over.

I'm sure the experts won't give the Bears a chance at home assuming the Bears win.  But The Bears held Rogers to 17 in the first meeting when the Pack wasn't injured much and 10 in Lambeau when THe Pack had to win.

The hype will be unmatched.

How many Pack fans are in attandance tonight, because I just heard a thunderous KUUUUUUUUUUUHN chant.  Must be because the Falcons supporters are dead silent.

Flacco made some plays at the end. The only difference between he and Roethlisberger at the end of the game is that Flacco's receivers choked.

As for Rodgers, you have to give Buck and Aikman a break. They lost Farve - they need a new guy to worship and hang posters up in their bedrooms. Plus, anything that gets them to show something resembling interest in the game is a good thing. Most of the time they sound like they're describing a small-town parade.

I've always been high on Rodgers (and not because he's from my home town!), and was sorely disappointed when the 49ers passed on him for Alex ("FUCK!") Smith. That said... holy shit, this is an insane performance. He's playing one of those games where Atlanta and their fans can't even feel that bad about losing, as there's simply no way they could beat him today.

The Falcons can get to Rodgers, but no one can tackle him.  And Donta Robinson is working out for Atlanta as a FA as much as Houshmanzadeh and Boldin did for Baltimore earlier.  That Owens guy at DB is terrible.

EDIT: Also, the streak of Tony Gonzalez never winning a playoff game continues.

Aaron Rodgers about to ascend into football nirvana.

For all of the Falcons fans, the Sundance Channel is showing Carlos

THe Pack are like Steeler fans.  They travel well.

Rodgers in 3 playoff games has posted QB Ratings of and 121, 123 and 137. Daaaaaaaaamn.

I think Trent Dilfer likes Rogers.  It's gonna be a long week.

Trust me, I don't like Kemoeatu either.

But yep, BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW

There's a reason that the announcers and everyone are talking Rodgers up. He's that good. Get over it.

The Steelers are to the Ravens what the Lakers were to the Kings.

Definitely in that head...

I want to hate Rodgers, on general principle, but especially as a Bears fan... but I can't.

And he played perfectly Saturday night.

Bring on GB.

The Bears are controlling this game, but the Packers looked more dominant on the road against a very good team than the Bears do at home against an average one.  This troubles me.  I am just hoping for a tooth and nail division rivalry game next week, the same way Jets fans are today.  Though I certainly give the Bears at home against the Pack a better shot than the Jets on the road against the Pats.

They did but it was because Ryan pulled a Cutler on that INT.  Should have been a FG att but they got greedy 2 plays in a row with the sack before havd.  4 point halftime lead makes it a very different game.  Falcons defense was also exposed and didn't finish the tackle when they had Rogers.

I think the Bears field will come into play.  It's like letting the grass grow long in the infield in baseball.  Slow it down.

Tom Brady's last 8 playoff games: 4-4 W/L, 14 TDs, 12 INTs, only 2 games rated above 83, 3 games rated under 67. His 2 good games were against mediocre/poor defenses.

That's good news for Jets fans... More good news: I picked the Pats, and I'm looking at a solid 0-3 so far this weekend!

ETA: Great jumping Jeebus. A field goal down 28?!? All credit I gave Carrol for last week is gone.

Hey, it's 24 points now-3 td's and 3 2pt conversions.

Great INT-too bad it's pass int bs.  horrible call.

My intuition tells me that the Packers are a better team than the Bears.  The Bears have better special teams, and a better (although not terribly robust) run game, but I'd take their D and Rodgers any day.  With that said, the Bears are the kind of team that won't dominate week in and week out but is capable of beating anyone.  Divisional matchups level the playing field so much that I think it's impossible to predict how the NFC Championship will pan out.  All I can say is, I'm hoping the Bears show up to play next week and I couldn't be more excited.
