The movie poster master has a collection for you.

I might have to track this book down. I didn't even realize he did some of those posters. Although now that I know, it's super obvious.

The book is fantastic. You get not just the art but the stories that go with it. And if you really want to buy some Struzan art (original, that is) -- and pull down a seven-figure paycheck -- just check out his site.

If only I had a half of mil sitting around somewhere ...

I really hate that WB didn't continue having Struzan do Harry Potter posters.

Seeing his take on the Chamber of Secrets really hits home how awesome a series of 8 Struzan posters for all the films would have been. Especially considering the uninspired posters they ultimately went with.

Although I give props to the current Deathly Hollows teaser poster with a burning Hogwarts, that one is great.

Those works are worth every cent. If I had the money.. Master of the Universe would be mine.

Wait, honey, you already spent that $100,000 your parents left you? On what...?

There's some almost off-putting about the DUCKTALES movie poster. Sturzan drawing cartoons is just... weird.

Yeah I agree. Seemed odd when I spotted the An American Tail poster. It's kind of weird with the Muppets too, to a lesser extent.

Seriously cool stuff. I was looking at some unused Struzan RAIDERS posters the other day and I can never get enough of his art. Great article, thank you for the content

PS: I prefer the final BTTF poster over that other one, but like that HARRY POTTER art more than the floating head posters

EDIT: His AMERICAN TALE work was incredible

EDIT 2: Much preferred that alternate Hell Boy to the theatrical poster we got

Though his HELL BOY DVD art was great

EDIT 3: Someone in the comments mentioned a Struzan WATERWORLD poster?! I googled and couldn't find it. Does it appear in the book?

PS I just saw the WATERWORLD image. It's OK, but I actually like the theatrical poster more. Struzan should have come up with something better that incorporated the atol, jet skis, the trimaran and the map to dry land

There's a lot of unused (and amazing) Struzan WATERWORLD stuff in the book, some of it exactly what you're looking for, Kate.

Oh wow. That is legitimately exciting to me. I fell in love with WATERWORLD while reading about it in a book at sleepaway camp and then had to wait a month to come home and watch it when I got back. If there is really a Struzan poster like you describe in the book, I might have to pick it up. I am now kind of wishing I didn't sink 15$ I didn't have into a T Shirt yesterday. It is unfortunate though, because ultimately you could never get a poster sized version of an unused poster.

EDIT: Might try the library I guess

Struzan was brought in to do a poster for Starcrash back in the day.

Unused, unfortunately.

These are the two WATERWORLD posters I've managed to locate online. The one on the left is cool. The one on the right does not quite work. I like the coloring and the look of all the individual elements better (especially the sun which would be baking hot in Waterworld), but I don't understand what Costner is supposed to be standing on. Is dry land two feet below the surf? Or is he jumping like a spawning trout?

Warner Bros. should pay Struzan to do six more Harry Potter posters, completing the series, then make them the individual disc covers whenever the Ultimate Potter box set is released somewhere down the road.

Drew Struzan should make every movie poster from this point on.
Someone should call him and tell him that.

I would die a happy man if that happened

Yeah that's the first art book in years that is an absolute must-buy for me. Brilliant.
