Tornado in Brooklyn!

Crazy!

Luckily I was tucked away in a cubicle doing some writing. There are downed trees all over my block. And as I live across the street from Prospect Park, these ain't no seedlings!

This is my friend's roof!

Your friend lives in a tin shack? (kidding)

Glad you're ok!!

I almost drowned in rain coming out of the subway after work, and there were tree limbs and debris all over the place. "Did a tornado blow through here or something?" I said to myself, jokingly.

Then I got home and checked the weather. Oh shit, it really did!

"But global warming is a liberal myth!"

Christ, if a tornado can tear through Brooklyn, can one destroying the Hollywood sign, Emmerich-style, be far behind?

That was a pretty crazy little storm. What's that, two tornados in Brooklyn in three years? Might be a sign...

It actually looks like cardboard covered with tar. Brooklyn is known for its many slumlords and their shitty building upkeep. Glad I recently moved out my old hell hole.

Karma much? Hope all the NY chewers' roofs are ok!

I'd blame it on the red slime if I were you.

A Tree Falls in Brooklyn

I've never seen it, but I suspect there's a The Wiz joke to be made somewhere up in here.

Remember the double rainbow guy? These models just took the prize for most ridiculous nature video. "OMG! OMG! OMG! Dude, look at that! Look at the tree! The tree! Holy fuck, look at the tree!".

I was hoping the dudes would get blown off the balcony, dudes.

Diva, where along the Park do you live? Curious as I am moving again to practically right across the park.

Oh, the destruction that storm caused. Ker-ist, got some good photos. Bunch of wrecked cars. What weird ass weather we've had.

I'm on Prospect Park East (my made up name for my esteemed neighborhood).

I'm on the corner of Ocean Ave and Lincoln Place, near where Ebbets field used to be (how I wished we had Brooklyn baseball again!). I face the park and am walking distance to the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

I believe that makes us neighbors! Assuming all paperwork goes through, I'll be on the corner of Flatbush and Maple, one block away from Ocean Ave. We may pass on the train and be none the wiser in the coming weeks.

We'll definitely have to get a drink one of these days!

I was just catching up on this thread (too little, too late), then I saw your post and the time stamp... Now I'm like "HUH? AGAIN?!?!"

Wow...

I'm just recently in the area over there too, in Ditmas Park. That last storm more or less left us alone aside from all the rain but not too far away some damage was done. Hopefully the rest of the day goes smooth.

I'm on Slocum Pl. It's a little 2 block stretch squished parallel between Cortelyou and Beverly.

A gathering would be fun. There were NY ones attempted befroe that worked out in varying degrees, but I never made it to one.
