I remember watching this as a kid. I didn't know what the hell was going most of the time, thanks to the local PBS station playing serialized episodes out of order. When they switched actresses for Gabby, the show actually made a big deal out of it. No surprise there, as the new one was kinda hot.

There was also a Ghostwriter Mysteries show that lasted half a season on CBS. Only three kids and the atmosphere was significantly darker...and not as much fun.

Really enjoyed this review. Also really enjoyed this show. A good test of whether or not someone is good people is to sing Ghostwriter and wait for them to reply with "Word".

I really like the show too when I was a kid. Heh, I suppose things were much safer back in the early nineties, even in New York.

The kids not being the greatest actors must not have bothered me much when I was young, since I really don't remember that part of it.

I also liked Wishbone a lot when I was a kid, if only because I thought that Christie Abbott was really cute.

I also watched this as a kid. I could even remember talking about the story involving the illegal dumping of dry cleaning chemicals in either third or fourth grade.

The one thing that did drive me nuts about this show was how SLOW the kids wrote stuff down. Sure their penmanship was great all, but it would take forever.

And of course, Willie Tanner not only being busted for copywright infringement but also torching his own store.

Great great review, Justin. And yes, fellow props to Square One and the always strange MATHNET.
