Chuck - Season 4 - Page 2

Jesus fuck.

That outfit...
Love the scene of Sarah typing her iPhone using her toes; her leg looked incredible on the screen.
Good opening. They went on cheap on the action stuff. Munn is atrocious in that role.

Also, what David said

Quote:
Olivia Munn also appeared in a seemingly useless role...but she looked a hell of a lot better doing it
post #54 of 205
At risk of being a total perv...my jaw is still on the ground after the dress scene. Wow. Just wow.
That fight between 2 beauties, Yvonne Strahovski's Sarah, and G.I. Joe's Cover Girl, was just...Awesome!
That was a fun and sexy one. Casey shooting Jeff what, 9 times? That was a nice call-back to Jeff's tolerance. Sarah and the dress? Whoa. The Buy Morons are back. Not sure how I feel about that.
Yeah, how much you want to bet the end of the season is their mom being there for when Ellie has her baby though. And I'm sure that someone (maybe Awesome again?) will be getting held hostage somewhere or something and be kept from getting to the hospital.

Still, a better episode than before and while I don't care about the rest of the Buy More guys, it's good to see Jeff and Lester back.
Jeff and Lester are pretty much the only semi-developed guys from the second string of the Buy More still left.

Do any of the others even have names?
I was pretty harsh on the season opener, with good reason, and this episode did nothing to alleviate my concerns (hey look, the Buy More is back to how it was before!) but it's a testament to this show's charm that I dug it. While I still would like something more from it, Chuck is still consistently entertaining.

Hopefully Jeffster! will get up to something interesting this season.
I don't necessarily think my tolerance for the show has gone down. It really feels like a much worse show than the 1st season. Yeah, the babes on this show rock. They're a-plenty too. But I don't give a shit about any of the characters anymore. So much wheel-spinning and resetting, it all feel familar.
Remember when Chuck was in danger of being killed off or at least hidden away in some CIA vault because of his Intersect knowledge? There were at least stakes back then.

As is, are they trying to move away from his Intersect stuff? Because it seems like, this season at least, they're keeping it to a minimum (which is fine after last season's reliance on Levi making goofy faces and then kung-fu fighting). I'm not even sure how that helps him open a combination safe like in this episode.
Not bad. I missed Jeffster. And somehow, Morgan is now a tolerable/ok character.
I thought this was the show getting back in gear. Having Awesome, Jeff and Lester back in the fold definitely bring the charm back. Morgan becoming store manager is a good move too.

Lots of sexy ladies help too.
This episode was exactly what Chuck should be. Funny banter, action, eye candy for the gents, some eye candy for the ladies just a very fun way to spend an hour.

I'd also like to add that Ms. Strahovsky is indeed an epically impressive specimen of womanhood. When the coat came of I reacted pretty much in sync with Chuck.
What the hell? Weirdest double post ever.
I'm pretty much only watching this show for Yvonne Strahovski at this point... and I'm totally okay with that.

My biggest fear is that when this show is canceled (which is looking likely), that she'll end up in romantic comedies or on Grey's Anatomy or something. Besides being the most beautiful woman on TV, she's the only person in this show that appears able to do her own stunts. I'd love to see her get a chance to play more than the straight man / idealized love interest, as on the rare occasions where they give her more to do that react to Chuck's goofiness, she's been quite good.

Same here. So Bronson Pinchot was there for what? 3 seconds?

He's Volkoff.

Regarding Chuck's cancellation odds, FOX has different expectations than NBC, and the show is still up from last year. And while Chuck only came in one slot ahead of Lone Star, its real numbers were much better than FOX's instant flop, with two million more viewers than Lone Star, and a much younger audience demographic, to boot.

Series premieres also score much higher than regular episodes, so it was basically all downhill from there for Lone Star, while Chuck performed about par for the course. I'm not saying the back nine are a slam dunk, but the numbers for Chuck look much better than those for Lone Star, in both real and comparative terms.

I have a feeling that Chase will be dropping quickly in the coming weeks, and the same likely goes for Undercovers, as well. NBC's utter inability to program a decent fall schedule has saved the modestly-but-reliably-rated Chuck in the past, and it will likely save Chuck for the rest of the season, according to what some folks are now saying.

Chuck's biggest threat? Comcast COO Steve Burke will be replacing the chronically-inept Jeff Zucker atop the NBCU hierarchy. If he decides to shake up NBC, the new team could pull the network out of fourth place, and raise ratings expectations to a place that Chuck simply can't reach.
I'm sure Comcast will probably axe some shows that are rating underachievers but are favorites of the outgoing Zucker, like 30 Rocks. But Chuck is one of the few shows NBC has that have done decently, and scored favorably among the demographics that advertisers love. And Chuck is facing off against DWTS and House, two shows that are their respective networks' ratings champs. I think we should give Chuck more credit for their ratings thus far.

Another...Awesome, Episode of...Chuck! Nicole Ritche hitting Sarah, below the belt with insults, as Sarah is...Trying, and Failing to maintain her usual cool disposition is just...Classic. Example "are you going for, 1 baby or...5?" Nicole to Sarah. Stone Cold is a great villain. Unlike the role...Lou Ferrigno played last week, Steve Austin (not the...Six Million Dollar Man!), did not have to...Wrestle with his emotions, except...Anger at Chuck.
This whole episode seemed geared in bringing Big Mike back into the fold. Everything else was just filler. Not a great episode, but still I'm on a high from last week's.
Too bad they couldn't bring back someone better like that red head that that Morgan liked back in S1. Nicole Richie is just weird looking (ugh, what is up with her hair) and not a good actor at all.

I thought a lot of it was to setup the fake proposal so that we could have more Sarah/Chuck angst. You know, why evolve the relationship when you can just keep finding reasons for them to be uncomfortable with each other.
Mediocre episode. I hated the Buy More stuff but the spy plot had some character progression. Although they seem to be domesticating Sarah a bit too much for my liking. But at least it made clear that we won't be seeing any Chuck and Sarah splitting up and then getting together again this season.
I love that...Morgan is on his most dangerous assignment yet! Dating...Colonel Casey's Daughter! That could get him killed.
Actually enjoyed this episode a lot. It moved things forward some and was entertaining. The 'Frost' tidbits always feel a bit tacked on though.
After watching the bikini montage, NBC better order the back 9 episodes for this season.

Assante always looks like he is having a blast doing this show.
this was fun and a lot of progress for all relationships. Especially glad they are moving along with Chuck and his sister and filling her in.. sorta.
Good episode, beside the excruciating Toyota product placement by Captain Awesome. I can usually tolerate those, but that one was horrible and distracting.
That was fun. If this is going to be the last season of Chuck they should go away doing what they do best. And I'm glad about that.
I'd be really annoyed at the bikini scene for pandering to me... if it hadn't worked so well.

The show definitely works better as an ensemble. The writing doesn't really have enough depth to spend 40 minutes on a single story or character, but when they spread the wealth around, it can be a breezy fun time. I love Yvonne and dig Awesome, Casey and Big Mike, probably because they're the ones reacting to the whining neurotics instead of being them.
Morgan and Casey on a...Rescue Mission together...After, Morgan told Casey, he was dating the Colonel's Daughter! Is Morgan in more danger from...The Bad Guys or Colonel Casey? Chaos, but not...KAOS, ensues! Awesome Episode!
interesting to see Morgan almost die.. actually he did die for about 3 seconds. Overall a brisk episode that moved the plot along.
That was a really fun episode. That's the Chuck I want to see more. A waste of Eric Robert (!), but any Casey-centric episode is great. Who knew Morgan could remotely be a fun character at some point...
Chuck scores a full-season pickup from NBC.

When Chuck flashed on the team, and all of the court-martial stuff came up, I said "Wow, that reminds me of The A-Team...if they actually DID commit the crime." And sure enough, they do the whole spiel. Loved it. Especially enjoyed Eric Roberts channeling George Peppard.
That's good news. I wonder if it will be like last season though. Where the story was pretty much done at the original episode 13 end date and just padded out with some extra episodes. Not that Im complaining really, those extras were still entertaining, they just didnt have the impact on the rest of the season.
Nice to get a break from all the relationship issues that have dominated the last few episodes. I have yet to be disappointed when they pair Casey and Morgan on a mission and this one delivered in spades.

Baldwin's reaction shots when he was stuck on the couch were perfect.

By the way, kudos to whoever on the show came up with the idea of playing Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party" during the funeral sequence.
I was starting to get a little down on this show after the first few underwhelming episodes, but these last two eps have been great.
I loved this episode.

As for the order for extra episodes, someone should write a book about Chuck. This is a show that has been on the bubble from day one and yet it just keeps getting picked up time and time again. In addition to having a strangely reliable and involved loyal fan base, Schwartz and Fedak must have the most convincing pitch in the history of mankind. I know that in NBC's case it's the half-blind leading the blind but at this rate Chuck will get a fifth season and hit 100 episodes. I would have never expected that last season.
It's interesting how much Chuck has matured since the beginning of the show. Especially given how much this show likes to retread character points.

And of course there's another snag with Chuck's mom. Sucks so much for Ellie.
Morgan as the magnet was pretty great. Especially the way he quickly took the gun out of mr. baddie's hands and handed it over to Casey like he truly was a spy.
Linda Hamilton is...Perfectly cast as the spy...Frost, who came in from the cold. Another...Awesome episode. I love how Jeff and Lesters house of horrors, helped, Chuck save the day, by giving the mad scientist a dose of his own medicine.
Jeff's line about the baby in a snail costume, cracked me up. And the final, longer set at the end was great. Otters truly are terrifying.

The rest of the episode felt pretty forced.
"How can we disarm this chemical weapon? Maybe in a sealed room wearing proper protection?"

"No. We'll just do it here in the middle of our HQ. Just remember to put your Oakleys on and we should be cool."

First episode this season I didn't like.
Yeah, this Halloween episode pales in comparison to last week's episode. However, I did enjoy Jeff's slideshow.

"Interspecies relationships!"
That was a fun episode. I'd watch a show with Dalton as the bumbling sidekick any day. I think everyone saw the outcome from a mile away(Im pretty sure it was predicted months ago in this thread). It should be interesting to see what happens with the conveniently intersect enabled car(speaking of which, Im not sure green LEDs are the way Id go to hide my top secret devices). I hope they dont put it into Ellie or something, that just seems a little too far.
thalasi, Maybe, Ellie will be the...new intersect. This episode was fantastic. It was great having a fight between Chuck and Sarah, while they were ko-ing bad guys, and Chuck's Mom, had to call them...Kids, kids that needed a...timeout!
Gotta love the car.

This times a thousand. While I'm sure that any future guest appearances by Dalton on Chuck will be great, I loved the bumbling/goofy aspect of his character in this episode. He had so many great lines too. The one about a "tiny weapons standoff" was probably my favorite.
Dalton's was the best guest appearance of this show.
Dalton was incredible. It's too bad we won't see the bumbling part of him anymore.
