If he plays a gangster the way he played a gangster in Mad Dog and Glory, it'll be a good time.

Weird clip, though it probably works better in context of the movie as a whole. Still, 90 seconds of Rourke and Fox staring at each other through glass is a strange way to pimp your flick.

sounds kinda like Mad Dog & Glory. I guess Murray is the go to guy for strange mobsters in indie-ish comedy/dramas...

He did the mobster bit in Mad Dog & Glory, that was the first time I ever saw "serious Murray" and I was quite impressed, so this could be interesting, despite my distaste for Megan Fox - but who knows, this could be the film puts her in the good graces of critics, if not the movie going public.

Edit: Between twice in 1min.

Certainly sounds interesting. I love threatening Murray.

Was reading that bit about Megan Fox and it sounded so familiar, so here's an expert from an interview with him when the Wrestler came out.
"How was working with Evan Rachel Wood?
Most of the heavy stuff was with [her], the whole stuff with abandoning her and her being a lesbian. I had almost the same conversation with her that I had with my real father, so I'm going, 'Wow, how do I do this one? I'm on the opposite end now.' It was a pleasure going to work with her. She kept getting better and better every take. Darren would come over, he'd got, 'She's blowing you away, you'd better get going.' She's the best actress I've ever worked with, hands down. She just brought it every fucking time. "
So, was he lying here? Or was he just mad she didn't want to make out with him?

No, he's not lying. He worked with Fox after Wood, this indicates that Fox is a better actress than Wood, which in turn indicates that the sky is not blue, that water is not wet, and that I've got a pig flight to catch at 2:00pm and must be going.

Except for the bit where the article claims Rourke had problems with Wood on Wrestler. Either way he's obviously a guy prone to hyperbole in interviews. I suppose soon enough Frieda Pinto will be the best young actress he's worked with. Poor ScarJo's not getting any loving though.

I think the interview was referring to Marisa Tomei, not his daughter. Could be wrong, but it doesn't say either's name in it.

Where'd this flick come from??? Weird premise/cast. On my radar now.

Unlike everyone else I love Murray and Rourke. Can't wait for this.

I was using my razor sharp wit to lay what I thought was some obvious irony down. Did I overestimate how much everyone loves Rourke? How can anyone not love Rourke?

I think it could simply be a matter of after spending the first two thirds of his career shit-canning everyone around him he's learned enough humility to be gracious to a fault when discussing his co-stars these days.

I'm three for three then, because I like Fox well enough, and low budget well made sci-fi. Or fantasy, whatever.

Mickey Rourke had some interesting things to say about the film in an interview with EW in February in which he called Megan Fox, "probably the best young actress I've ever worked with," and that they had, "a lot of chemistry and respect" for each other (something that was apparently not present on The Wrestler, according to Mickey).
Yeah, Rourke is a cool actor and whatnot - but his statements are ass. Like when he was filming DOUBLE TEAM and JCVD still had clout, at a small party somewhere in Italy, JCVD walks in and Rourke kisses him on the cheek and says, ''This man is under-rated, he's on par with Robert DeNiro.'' *Along these lines.* There a video floating about w/ said party.

So FUCK what Rourke has to say about Megan Fox. He's probably trying to hit it.
