Hawaii Five-O (2010) - Page 2

I gave up on this show. It hasn't ever been anything but stupidly bad. I like Scot Caan in it though so I hope he can find a better show to be on.
This show is a glossy turd. Yet I cannot stop watching.
I was disappointed that Dano didn't have a great ring tone for his partner, something like a crazy frog song
post #54 of 88
pretty good episode this week. The Ms Pacman dialogue was rather funny. Masi Oka might be a good addition to the show, if he loses the crazy eccentric doctor crap.
I tried to watch this. It was abysmal. It was like CSI-Miami but the cheesiness was replaced with shiny crappiness. Wow do the leads have zero chemistry. And what is Scott Caan, 4'11" tall? Only person/character who was even remotely entertaining was Daniel Dae Kim's. This is trash. I generally enjoy cheesy trash (I can get an hour's worth of entertainment from CSIM for example) but this is lousy. And Oka's eccentric doctor? Christ. Never though I'd see Oka play a character that makes me want Hiro back.

Kevin Fucking Sorbo!!!

that's a cheer of praise. He needs his own show again.
Ha, well he has that movie coming up right?

Anyway, the main cast still needs some work to completely gel. And it's weird, but I don't think the setting feels present all the way through. Maybe it's just because they feel like they need to hammer home that they're in Hawaii at certain times.

They're going a bit too far with the whole 'Steve is a complete douche and Danno is a whiny bitch' thing. Their whole interaction boils down to:

Steve: I'm a ridiculously, to the point of parody, alpha male douchebag. Watch me be awesome!
Danno: Wahh! My knee hurts! You're driving too fast! The music is too loud! Where am I?
Don't forget the part where he's trying to bond with his daughter whom he moved out to Hawaii to be with even though he doesn't like it.

Maybe the show'd be more enjoyable if Steve was more Kenny Powers: Cop.

Kelly Hu looks like she might be a recurring character. That's a PLUS.

Kelly Hu in a cop suit. Not a Plus.
Kelly Hu needs to have a bikini-off against Grace. Otherwise it's back to watching episodes of In Case Of Emergency with her in those tiny little massage parlour outfits.
I laughed out loud when Grace Park said, "I'm hungry." I'll bet you are. She looks like she's about to pass out in every scene. Eat some local food! You're rail thin!
wow. Jason Scott Lee. Bronson Pinchot and the chick from Dollhouse.
Former Slayer against a former vampire...I'm such a nerd.

Whoops, she got hit by a bus halfway. I was hoping to see her and Grace wrestle.
Former slayer? Which one?

I'm kinda amused that Daniel Dae Kim's character has a preference for shotguns and seems to use them in every episode.
Bad girl, Navi Rawat was the pycho slayer from Angel. At the end of the episode Andrew and a slew of Slayers came to get her.

She played a similar, but cooler bad girl on Burn Notice.
Different actress. The bad girl from the episode was played by Emmanuelle Vaugier.
Oops. I thought it was her. My bad.
liked the bon jovi banter.. those little moments help the show out tremendously.

Funny, the missus and I mentioned the exact same thing while watching this episode. "Squarejaw sure loves him some shotgun action".
Holy shit was that NAS? I almost didn't recognize him.
The two tackle stunts in this episode were particularly nasty. What's funny about this show is how it gets these little things so, SO right.
This Windows Phone 7 ad had some cop show in it.
Way to bring out the Big Baddie: Marc Fuckin' Dacasos. AWESOME.

That and having the main character deal with burning up 10 million dollars is actually giving some much deserved storyline to the series.
Yeah, what was up with this episode? Was that actual plot progression that I just witnessed? Weird.
This seemed like a major episode, but they blew through all the good detective work rather quickly. I thought for sure the dad backstory would last the rest of the season, but at this pace they could wrap it up next week.
Yeah, my mom and I were laughing since they had the whole kidnapping wrapped up in 15 minutes.

I was disappointed the beach shootout did not result in what I like to call the "Hawaii 5-0 Tackle."

I think they are expanding the dad stuff so it lasts a lot longer.

I guess it was a quick story to boot his sister off the island. She always looked drugged out anyway.

Excellent episode that continues the missing money story arc. Loving it. Now the all the money is accounted for, we get to guess whether someone has got the team's back or if that money is counterfeit.

Hey, this is actually growing on me a bit.

gotta love the boat chase too with a mast swing to take out a lady. Bam!

Kind of cool comic-con epsiode of Hawaii 5-0. The purposely placed Yusagi Yojimbo comic was a nice touch I must say.

I loved the Sisko scene. Makes me happy these guys are sort of steering the Trek franchise.

P Diddy is not Jackie Chan, but does his best to navigate around obstacles in his big chase scene. The way the episode ended it really sounds like P Diddy will be joining the team next year or at least returning for future episodes.

P Diddy coming off decently in this episode is more a testament to the lackluster acting of the regulars than any particular skill on Diddy's part.  Keith David was severely under-utilized.

I can't believe I'm typing this but the season finale was probably one of the best TV season finales of the year. Intense stuff. With Steve and Kono going to jail.. Danny and new girl Jenna are going to need to uncover a LOT of stuff to get them out.

oh and damn I didn't want to see Kelly Hu go boom.

I'm wondering how they're going to resolve things, since they actually are guilty of the things they're being accused of.  Well, except for Steve killing the governor, but the rest was stuff they actually did.

Yeah, they actually did a pretty good job with the finale (was able to catch up last night), but they DID leave quite the mess to resolve.  there's no easy way for them to do it, at least nothing obvious right off the bat.  But I'm sure it'll happen because can't have Hawaii Five-O with the "Five-O", unless they're gonna change the name to Hawaii Dan-O...  (I'm so lame.)

And this is not really a complaint, but more a minor nitpick.  I think the Hawaii setting has totally gone to their heads because there was certainly some Lost inspired music going on in the finale.  Some of it sounded like it was almost lifted right off and copy-and-pasted in the editing room.  I'm sure it wasn't, but sure seemed to be riffing in that direction.  My wife thought so too.

And Chin will always be Jin to me.  The Hawaii setting sealed that deal.  I'm a dork but I always call him Jin while we watch.  I always try to find something stupid to say so I can call him Jin, like the whole thing he did with the money and the deed to his house.  "Jin!  WHAT are you doing?!?!"  It'll probably get old soon enough.
