Nick wonders why this film avoided nostalgia goodwill.

Shit, halfway through the article I was going to suggest that this film and Young Doctors In Love were part of some kind of Fridays cast curse. Then you went and mentioned Young Doctors In Love. I'll suggest the shit out of some titles for this one...

Holy shit! I've still got the poster for this. It's beat up but I still love it.

This movie didn't completely fall through the cracks since I once made some mspaint art from it...

But considering that no one ever guessed it correctly...um, yeah. This is a pretty terrible film that I also watched way too many times as a kid. That glittery blue coke will always stick in my mind.

I loved that movie, and YDIL as well. My college years were filled with some great lines from JHTA....

Customs Man at Heathrow: Anything to declare, Sir?
Jekyll and Hyde: Man has not evolved an inch from the primordial slime that spawned him.
Customs Man at Heathrow: Very Good, Sir.

One of my favorites was the gentle reminder/warning to Jeckyl from the Hospital Chief...

"Your family dead, hospital burned down, body in pit."

This film is a must for Tim Thomerson completists.

All I seem to remember clearly from this is the plastic surgeon's patient climbs off the operating table with massive tits that squeak like two balloons being rupped together. And Elvira plays a nurse.

Elvira was indeed a nurse.

Oh my, I haven't thought of this movie in forever! Indeed, a lost cable classic. Brilliant idea for a column, Nick.

Thanks. Send suggestions via the email link. I'd prefer to surprise folks rather than have folks guess in here. But, as is always that case these things live and die based on interest. Seems like a decent start.

This seems to have also occurred with roughly 85% or so (possibly more) of the things I grew up loving as a kid, so I can more than sympathize with the sentiment here. CHUD often feels like one of the only places where a lot of those things aren't only remembered, but are also actually shown some degree of genuine respect and fondness without being constantly snarked on for cheap irony by a bunch of people that were clearly born and grew up way the hell after the fact. Its immensely refreshing and just one of the many reasons I like coming here.

Anyhow, fabulous idea for a column. Christ I haven't so much as thought about Young Doctors in Love in eons.

I missed this somehow. Great idea for a column.

You're absolutely right. CHUD is kicking ass right now.
