1/11/11 is the street date for Sergio Leone's final masterpiece in high definition.

I've avoided seeing this until now just because of all the terrible things I've heard about its troubled production. Still, I figure one of the cuts is worth watching.

The 4 hour cut is nothing short of amazing. I saw it for the first time a month ago. Blew me away. Specially the second 2 hours.

The chase with Bugsy and the line "Noodles....I...slipped." is heartbreaking.

Nice! Just bought a used copy of the director's cut dvd a couple months ago and hadn't found the time to watch it. Probably won't now.

I'm in, especially since, finally, we'll be able to watch the movie without that awful split-up point on the current DVD.

I read that's how it was shown, but when I rented the original vhs release it ends with Noodles driving the car off the pier.

When I found and bought the dvd set at a pawn shop back in February and saw it, I was surprised to see that it stops during a chase sequence.

Since it's a blu-ray, there might be a brief intermission, or even better, just keep on going.
