Detroit 1-8-7

So far so good. It's nice to see a cop show that realizes there are crimes in cities besides NYC and LA. Seems a little like Law and Order without the Order part, but they've managed to nicely sketch out the characters in the first ten minutes or so. We'll see how it goes.

How is a veteran cop going to vomit at a crime scene? Even if the guy is new to the Homicide squad he has to have seen a few bodies working the streets in Detroit.

The hunt for the shell casing was pretty good.

Glad to read that they've abandoned the documentary format, because that was really jarring at times. But that ending certainly caught me off guard.

So no one else caught this? I figured Imperioli would have drawn some of you in.

Reviews were terrible.
It seems like you really liked two of the worst reviewed shows of the season.

The AV Club liked them both. In fact, their reviews helped me decide to watch both shows.

I recorded this but just haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I liked the one guy in Life on Mars but weirdly he actually looks more ridiculous without a crazy 70's mustache.

I enjoyed the second episode, but this is in real danger of turning into "MICHAEL IMPERIOLI'S CASE and the case those other guys are working on." It's nice they're trying to have a large and varied cast, but the non-Imperioli one just came across as filler.

I'm a fan. Thought both episodes were good.
