Henry

I just watched an old flick.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

I'll tell you right now that I usally don't watch slasher movies. I just don't care about them.

But, this time I was in the local video store, and decided to grab this one. It was probably because the main actor was, Michael Rooker.

So, this thing starts out showing Henry driving around randomly killing people. But, it was after the fact. You never got to see the murder taking place. I did not like this.

Then, it starts showing his killings, and man they were brutal. The ending was very harsh. It was rather graphic and unsettling.

I don't know if the CC guys ever wrote anything on this, but I just wanted to post what I thought about the movie anyways.

I saw a sequel to this movie, and want to know what happens to Henry. He probably gets it in the second one.

If anyone has seen the second one, don't tell me about it.

Later, you psychos.

P.S. I also rented Revenge of the Damned. Don't get it. If you do, just fast forward to the last 20 minutes. That was the best part.

'Henry' was one of the best, most realistically chilling serial killer movies I've ever seen. This has always been a favorite of mine, and now that you've posted about it, Billy, I may have to look into the DVD of it. Truely some of Rooker's finest work, and I was really glad to see him in more and more stuff after it was made.

Never saw 'Mask of Sanity', but I here it's not that bad, though nowhere near as good as the first.

Aw, c'mon, Johnny. Everyone knows Michael Rooker's best work was Mallrats.

Henry is a great flick. If you're looking for a movie that most realistically paints the world of a serial killer, this is it. Here's my review of it from a million years ago, if anyone's interested http://home.att.net/~creepie/nureview.html alongside Silence of the Lambs (which I like a lot more now than I did then) and the Friedkin flick Rampage. Beware of my bad, stuffy writing, though!

billylove, thanks. That was back when movie serial killers used to be based on real life killers. You don't really see that much anymore.
