That FF poster is pretty dandoodley sweet!

I have a question for the community out there. These alternate movie posters seem to be growing in popularity over the past few years. As well as t-shirts featuring Artist's representations of characters from cult or even popular films.

Did I miss a memo or something, but when did it become legal to use characters or photo references from movies and sell your artwork without paying any licensing fees? Didn't even Warhol get sued when he used Campbell's Soup and Marilyn Munroe?

I imagine Mondo's stuff is either A) worked out with the companies in advance or B) nobody with the power to do something really gives a crap because a good 90% of the stuff is limited run.

Plus, just overall, apparel and alternative posters don't seem like they're even really dangerous to the bottom line. If anything, they might even help a movie a tiny bit because people will see the shirt or poster and go "what's that" and maybe end up buying the DVD in the future.

I also love Chudfan's little bitchery in the comments of any and every Alamo Drafthouse story on the site recently. His sourness on Movie Meccas like the Drafthouse is just so endearing.
