Man it's been a while since I've seen S1. Clark's voice was a lot higher back then.

True, Hammerhead. I still find it hilarious. Are there as fanatical fans for this show though?
Probably not, neoolong. I thought it was sweet. Brainiac 5 was a change of pace, and followed the canon pretty good, except he wasn't green. I'll take Marsters though. The elevator scene was a bit of fun. The last scene was sweet I thought. I'm really diggin Erica as Lois.

The problem with the jump to the future, I want to see that show instead of Smallville.
I can't argue with that. Would it feel to much like "Lois and Clark" though?
I want to see that show instead of Zach Snyder's unneeded reboot. It would be different than Lois & Clark at least by looking much better and less cheap.

That and I'd hope that they didn't go with the RomCom theme that Lois & Clark seemed to do so much. And so much cheese in that show.

And have Lois be in the know much earlier.

Pretty good episode though. But seriously, I have to wonder if future Clark thinks that past Clark was such a hesistant douche. Get on with it already, past Clark!

Ha! If I was future Clark, I would definately think that present Clark is too hesistant.

Probably applies to all our future selves.
That was the best episode ever. Everything about it was just great!

Loved Braniac 5! Loved Lois & Clark! Loved every single second of October 15th 2017!(or the 17th?) Loved future "Clark Kent" Loved the Helicopter rescue!!!!!! Loved the flashbacks!!!!! Loved everything about Oliver's speech and most of all. I loved every single second of the barn and especially the dance!!!

This just hit all the right spots for me. I was squealing with glee throughout the episode and found myself rewinding and rewatching almost everything two or three times. Fuck the haters, this show rocks.

SUPERMAN! FLYING! Fuck them if they cave and go back to formulaic after this. I want the Clark from the barn from this episode on out. DAMN THEM FOR MAKING THIS THE FINAL SEASON!
I have to agree. That was one of the better episodes I have seen.
Yea, I agree with you guys. That was easily in the top three episodes of Smallville. All the important notes were hit and even Oliver only getting like three minutes in the entire episode managed to make a pretty big impact. What I liked best was actually Clark telling Brainiac 5 that he didnt know what the heck everyone else was talking about when they kept telling him he had all this darkness when he didnt even see it himself. In the first few episodes they told him about it a few times but we never actually saw much indication of this supposed darkness except for some minor clone choking(and come on, who has never wanted to fight an evil clone?). It just felt like before that was all left a little too vague so it was nice to see it directly addressed on an emotional level with Brainiac showing examples and such to help him out, it made it feel less soapy and more mature.

Finally! Bumping for neoolong mostly, and so I can respond to him.

Great, I'm going to be that guy (that likes Smallville) now. Well, and Snaieke I guess.

I have to admit, I am kinda enjoying how much of an idiot Cat is. Good shot, but completely off the mark.

"Hero Menace!"

"Lois is the Blur!" "They're rodents!"

When your boss laughs in your face, might want to get another job.

And hah, even Lois can fly before Clark. What the hell Smallville?

Edit: Erica Durance is very pretty.
No, I like it too, but you're like the expert here. I just like reading your thoughts.

Curses, Clark is faced with his one weakness, besides kryptonite.

Magic. Well, kryptonite or indecision.

"I'll never understand liberals." Okay, I changed my mind. I love Cat. Her journalistic powers are incredible, what with her thinking the picture of Clone-Lex is Tess' kid. Because they both have red hair!

And I like that when in trouble, she immediately asks Green Arrow for help, even though he's part of the "Hero Menace."

I liked the episode, if only for the fact that it was yet another lecture for Clark to get off his butt and do something, this time tell Lois the truth about who he is and how he loves her. Kinda like last episode was a lecture about superheroics and rejecting the darkness of his past.

I would like to see Smallville Black Adam though.

It's amazing what good writing can do. These last two episodes have been nearly devoid of action and yet been very entertaining.

I used to watch Smallville at 4AM when I couldn't sleep. Now I actually look forward to each episode.

It has also provided us with the best Lois and the best Lex of any rendition. When Nolan's new Superman movie lumbers into theaters, I know I'll be comparing its Lois to Erica Durance. The upgrade in writing a couple years ago was the biggest reason the show is legitimately good right now, but the upgrade from Lana to Lois (in character and acting) has been the second-biggest factor.

Her running tackle of Clark was adorable.

They decided to leave out the part how Osiris was also Isis' brother. Creepy... Liked the Teth Adam blade. Wish the guys they have running the show had been running it all along. I mean most of the dialog in the episode was awful, but it had good moments. Also, Tess and baby Lex seem to have a Breaking Dawn thing going on, which is hilarious.

I'm not saying that you can't trust rural white folks, but it seems like whenever they appear there's always sacrifices to ensure bountiful harvests, torch burnings, and general unease with city folk.

Remember when Clark decided to get off his ass signified by his new red and blue costume at the end of the second episode of the season? We're now four episodes past it, and I don't think he's even worn it yet to fight crime.

Remember Darkseid, the all-consuming darkness that threatens to take over the world and remake in his own image? Yeah, neither do I.

It's feels like typical Smallville filler, though Lois knowing Clark's secret adds a little to it. And Clark found out that Lois pulled the Spear of Longinus out of his side! He wasn't saved, he was resurrected! Clark is Jesus!

With the scarecrow masks (ha, closest you'll get to Batman Smallville fans), the townsfolk kinda looked like the scarecrow from the Supernatural episode "Scarecrow."

Also, Clark's slow-mo slow-ass run to save Lois from the blue kryptonite fire was LOLZ. I do have to say though, the burn on his back was pretty hardcore. Clark loves you Lois, he just took a back full of fire for you.

Fire or knife indeed.

One reference to Cat Grant, about how they don't like her. Ha ha.

Nobody likes you, Cat Grant!
Every series needs filler. Erica is still as adorable as ever.

Cat Grant...I wonder if she is related to Ted Grant.
Thread Starter
True, and it was better than many of the other Smallville filler episodes. Erica is one of the best things about this show.

I don't think Ted "Wildcat" Grant is related to Cat Grant. That'd be a little too clever. Ha.

Why would they let the kid have a razor?

Genetic memory through kryptonite? The kid seems a little older than when it happened to Lex though.

What're the odds we're going to see Michael Rosenbaum this season?

Oh goodness, I did think of that nerd conversation when they were doing the flesh wrestle.

HE"S GONNA KILL LOIS!! NO!!
They already had the episode where they discussed him being able to control his powers during sex and no longer worrying about that.

I had assumed they'd go in a direction where this Lex wouldn't remember his memories of growing up with Clark, thus allowing there to be a Lex Luthor who didn't know Clark was Superman in the end. I guess not, unless he ends up losing his memories again at the end.
I think it's just a backup plan just in case they can't get the original guy back for the final few episodes.

I think that if they get the original guy back, he'll use the clones to fix himself up and there might be some issues with him remembering things when the final procedure is done. He might have residual hate for Clark, but since CK knew him without the glasses, he'll have a deep unknown hatred for Superman. Heck they can stick with this even if they can't get the original guy back and have him have a slight different look and just blame the surgery.

That or he'll get kissed by Clark and he'll forget everything.

OT: I decided to visit the parents and watch Smallville with them (my dad is a huge Superman fan). Yeah the ending of this episode was a great way to bond with them.

To me, this is the only way Smallville can end. Unless they've come up with some kind of fix during the seasons I stopped watching the show, Clark is going to have super-kiss the entire population of Smallville, Kansas. Otherwise, why wouldn't people recognize Superman as hunky, non-glasses Clark Kent? I guess we just have to overlook that, eh?

If this show ends right when "Superman" appears, they don't have to explain jack. Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but the show's over. What are the fans going to do, stop watching? Ha ha.
Oh yeah, definitely. We all just want to see Tom Welling in the suit anyway, and maybe Michael Rosenbaum shaking an angry fist at him. All's forgiven after that.

At least Donner's glasses-less Smallville Clark had the good fortune of transforming from Jeff East to Christopher Reeve, thereby assuring no one would recognize him!

As the future shows he starts wearing the glasses when he ditches the Blur and takes on the public image of Superman. Perhaps other than Lois the Daily Planet has a large turnaround in employees between now and then.

Vigilante Registration Act. Wow, let's just rip off all the recent Marvel storylines.

Still, the fact that General Lane basically figures out Clark isn't what he seems in about five minutes is hilarious.

The politics of this show are great. General Lane is such a caricature of an uber-right wing general. Civil rights? We don't need to stinking civil rights. Vigilantes want to take over the country with anarchy. He truly is Cat Grant's soulmate.

Also, Clark should have asked him about Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Edit: Lois? Still totally worth it though.

Edit 2: Finally, Clark is wearing the new costume.

Edit 3: I know that it'd be really on the nose, but I wish they had a minority superhero (where is Martian Manhunter?) for when they talk about how the registration act will be a weapon and used to profile people and that they need a history lesson in that being a bad thing. Bring me Jaime "Blue Beetle" Reyes.

Edit 4: General Lane totally knows Clark is the Blur.

Wait, the Suicide Squad is part of the government, but is against the government's legislation about vigilantes. So they commit "vigilante" acts against the unjust law in the form of terrorism in order to convince the government to repeal it? Because bombings is the best way to do that, even though you're actually part of the government yourself?

Stop confusing me, Smallville!
Wasn't there a threat of Darkseid as well?

Why doesn't Clark just grab the suit from the cave?

I missed a little bit of the episode, but Erica is Lois.

Tom, well is Clark, but lets have an actual few episodes with him in the suit. Lets audition for Synder.

I wasn't a fan of last week's episode, outside of a few scenes. Loved the intro, obviously... I like how things are happening off screen and they're brining us in on it mid-conversation.

This weeks episode was really nice, a few really great moments. I loved how the general figured out Clark was the blur and his speech to Clark at the end. Clark telling him he had a question he wanted to ask him... made me lose my shit! Could they be married this season too?????

Man they are juggling some real plotlines this season. Lois & Clark, Darkseid, cloned Lex, Superhero Registration act.. by the way... I forgive them for that rip off only because the General said eventually heroes would group up and form their own cells (and make their own laws.. or JUSTICE!) .. since essentially that has already happened and that is also what the Justice League is about.

By the way... RIP Talon!

ETA. By the way... promo for next weeks episode (or a future one) had Lois's mom in it.. and I had to rewind and rewatch it and really really lost my shit on that. Made me so giddy I was acting like a little school girl.

Jor-El froze the suit in some ice after doing some mind meld with Clark. Clark forgot about the suit, thought it was lost etc.. I'm sure it will be discovered at some point in the future. Hopefully not the last episode. They need that shit on for at least the final 3.

It's very weird seeing Payton List on Smallville after being on Mad Men. Seems like she's slumming it somehow (same with that girl on Stargate Universe).

As for the Suicide Squad: They were government issued (last season), but now Flag is forming his own team w/o the government. I think.

Also, it's pretty funny that Clark's mom is a Senator (which is a pretty big deal), but never comes back to Smallville. And that Clark, who can zoom across the world, never goes to have, you know, lunch with her.

Also, does no one question how Clark can have a working farm with no help?

And isn't Metropolis like a two hour drive from Smallville?
Thread Starter
Is the Kent Farm even a working farm anymore? With his mom a senator and him a reporter, I would think they would have enough money just to have it there as the family home and not even need it be a working farm.

It's also really weird for there to be national anti-superhero registration when we only ever really see like three of them. And they only really do stuff in Metropolis.

What is the rest of the Justice League doing again? It'd be nice if it was mentioned, especially in relation to the registration act.
If Superman is being fast tracked, sadly why not go with something that already has a built in audience?

Lucy was in an episode like five years ago, I think it's just another one of the long list of guest stars from the past they brought back. She had an actual storyline last time instead of just sort of being there.

And they've said before in the distant past that Metropolis was something like a hundred miles away. That was before people were regularly visiting/living there though so since then they kind of dont talk about it. A couple times a season Clark asks people who live in Metropolis to meet him on the farm which seems like a real dick move.

They havent said a thing about the rest of the team this season that I can remember. I think last season Chloe ran a few mission with them in relation to the Kandorians or something but it was mostly offscreen. Maybe they are off in their city of origin now doing the solo thing since the Blur and Green Arrow(and maybe Kara? That was left a little vague) seem to have Metropolis under control. But you're right, if they are gonna bring up a registration act you've got to get more than two heroes point of views on the matter.
