I really enjoyed the historical context and focus of the review, Troy. It made sense if, as you say, the film wasn't all that.

The Lincoln caption tickled me, by the way.

It was just fucking mediocre. You can't really hang that strong of a label on mediocre productions. It's something I've been having to deal with in a lot of recent material, so expect similar scores coming up.

God damn it - I blind bought this and still haven't watched it yet. Maybe I'll just rewatch the full cut of Red Cliff instead.
