Red Dead Redemption : The Curse Of The Black Pearl ?

They are really going to have to try hard to get me to buy that. RDR is a perfect game and does not need fricken Zombies.
We finally get single player DLC, and it's fucking zombies? PASS.
This just in: Zombies STILL don't just make everything better.
Yes, zombie cougars that are even hard to kill was just what everyone wanted.
Will wait till review hit AND it gets on sale.
IMHO Zombies do NOT belong in this world. If you'll recall, back when I just learned about the game my great fear was that it would have the kind of silly stuff that infected the first RDR game (Zombie midgets, ETC)
Actually Kate midgets DO make everything better.

Oops, my bad!

The game already had a mystical element with the "I Know You" mission line, so something like this isn't completely out of place.

Every time I hear about the concept of Wild West zombies, I can't help but think about the song 'Undead West' off the WET soundtrack.
I hereby declare the inclusion of zombies in games to be illegal under penalty of death. Only games pitting them against plants or the Left For Dead franchise are exempt.

Thus spake Stelios.

What they could do, if anyone had the cojones, is make a playable version of that Tales From The Crypt episode where everyone the main outlaw had killed was hanging out in a very specific bar, waiting for him to have his last duel.

I actually really liked that story line, and it's conclusion. It kind of reminded me of the mystical elements in westerns like SERAPHIM FALLS

With that said, a disappearing guy in a top hat in one scene from a 100 hour game is different from coming across a ghost town fair teeming with zombies and ghouls

Yes, and while not overtly paranormal, some of the other stranger missions were certainly macabre. And also also, as Alex pointed out, there were a couple of "ghost town" rumors peppered throughout the game (in anticipation of the DLC, admittedly).

Actual zombies is a stretch, to be sure, but there's a bit of a ghoulish streak to the game. I have no problem considering this as RDR "speculative fiction", anyway.

I'd love it if they based it on Mastern coming back from the dead as some sort of avenging angel, High Plains Drifter Style.
I'm dumbfounded that while this has become my favorite game ever that I've had no desire whatsoever to buy any of the DLC they've put out. I want to give Rockstar my money. Give me more missions. Give me more of the single player game that I loved. Quit messing around.

THIS. Please do it, Rockstar. As others have noted, the "You Know My Name" storyline was awfully eerie and I could totally buy an avenging Marston. I hate the idea of him being a zombie -- but if he's brought back as a lone drifter to fight zombies and ghosts, why the hell not.

I consider this a Halloween novelty and not part of the "mythology", so far as there is one, so I'm ok with it...but I am going to be dismayed if you play Marston as a rotten zombie.

Yeah, not saying zombies is necessarily the way they should have gone, but that step certainly isn't a grand betrayal of the game's setting.

Personally, I'd rather see some Indian spirits and the like.

Zombies have been done to death (no pun intended...or is there), but they havent been done in the Wild West. I'm interested in this DLC mainly because of that fact.

I wish they'd go all-out and do something like Ballad of Gay Tony or something for their single-player expansions, but this could turn out cool.
