Giant vacuum cleaners from outer space? Looks cheap, but fun.

Intriguing and with some pretty money shots, but it doesnt make me want to punch that Balfour chap any less.

They can throw in all the spaceships and monsters they want, what will make or break the film will be the presence of a scene of Eric Balfour being crushed by a massive alien foot. Possibly with replays from multiple angles. If that's in the movie, they have my buck.

Looks nice, but AvP: Requiem looked nice in the trailer, too.

Independence Day was a pretty stupid movie that was really only saved by the massive and awesome spectacle (and I'll admit, Smith and Goldblum helped a lot too). Of course, Emerich is also a pretty skilled craftsmen of spectacle and destruction and the Strause brothers, while being truly amazing effects wizards, have only AvP as directing credits and that was a goddamn terrible movie. So their directing chops still have yet to be proven.

What the fuck was my point? Anyway, the movie looks like a lot of fun, the designs of the ships and aliens look amazing and the effects look pretty fantastic. I'll go see it.

Skyline already has a leg up on AvP in that we can actually see what the hell is going on on screen. I've never "seen" a darker movie than Requiem.
