A monster sitcom is getting re-animated.

This is one remake I'm actually behind. I love the Munsters and the team behind the remake sounds great.

I'm a huge fan of Pushing Daisies, and I think that sensibility would work great with something like The Munsters. Who, btw, are much cooler than The Addams Family.

I don't know, showrunners don't know how to do "camp" properly anymore.

I watched a marathon of the Munsters and the Addams Family last year, and this show was head and shoulders above the Addams Family. The theme song was better too.

I could've sworn that Marilyn Munster (who was their niece, by the by) turned invisible from time to time. I distinctly remember her and Herman going to a dealership to pick out her first car and the salesman being flabbergasted when he saw a car door open and shut by itself.

Well I can't sit here and let this blasphemy against The Addams Family stand. They really lived the life, you know? None of this trying to fit in with the normal world; you either played by their rules or got the hell out of the house. Sure, the Munsters had a dragon under the staircase and Grandpa had his lab, but the Addams had that times ten. Let's put it this way: Herman carried a lunchbox. Gomez carried a rapier. Advantage Addams.

And Brad Garrett is genius casting for Herman.

Yeah, that Brad Garret comment is spot on.

Yeah, we've had this discussion before but The Addams Family schools the Munsters every which way to Sunday.

Having said that, January Jones for Marilyn!

If he wasn't already tied up, I'd call DeVito for Grandpa.

Fuller has earned the benefit of the doubt with me on his next TV project, but the Munsters?

I dig the old show, but I have a hard time seeing the show work as a weekly series again. Will it be a sitcom? Will it be a kinda funny hour long with super natural elements (Fullers Wheelhouse)? I guess there is something there worth getting jazzed about, but I don't see it just yet.

Just a wild guess that they drank one of Grandpa's potions and that's why they were invisible.

As a kid I was much more in tune with The Munsters because they were Frankenstein's Monster and Dracula, etc. I was always jealous of Eddie's werewolf doll.

...But The Addams Family was a much smarter and funnier show. Between the Gallows humor and performances of John Astin, Carolyn Jones and Jackie Coogan, it's not even a contest.

Well, the man actually does a Herman Munster impression, so.

I think that was the plot of one episode but she didn't have invisibility powers.

What? It was on all the time on TBS when I was little!

If Brad Garrett is busy, Patrick Warburton will do nicely.

And for Christ's sake. The Munsters had the Dragula. Therefore, The Munsters > The Addams Family.

That would be AMAZING... I could get very excited for the show if Warburton was Herman.

That and Lee Pace as the normal niece's boyfriend...

Speaking of Daisies alums, I could totally see Anna Friel as Lily.

If this has to happen I go along with the Brad Garrett or it doesn't happen logic. I can't think of anyone else who would come close.

Is Fivish Finkle still alive? I'll pull for him to get Grandpa.

And that makes a lot more sense that the human wasn't a daughter. Been a long time since I've seen an ep of the show.

Watched alot of NICK AT NIGHT growing up, and even though that included more than my fair share of MUNSTERS episodes, I never warmed to the show. It's just not a concept I'm into so I doubt I'll be watching this new movie

I remember seeing Brad do the Herman laugh during his standup routine/s,

Charles Addams and his cartoons in The New Yorker pedigree is the main reason why most people choose The Addmans Family over The Munsters. But Addams didn't have Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis and the great chemistry they shared. Or the cool cars and great surf rock second season theme. The Munsters family had adventures, they went places and did exciting things: everything from drag racing to Eddie going apeshit on live TV during a horror host's show. Watch enough Addams Family and you'll quickly notice they never went anywhere, everything revolved around them inside mostly that one huge living room set. That got dull fast for me.
