Very much want to see this now.

I hope the movie you describe here is the one I get to see Jacob, because that sounds like a blast. And I love blasts.

This was the one film at the fest that EVERYONE loved. Frankly, I'm shocked it didn't take the audience award (although Bedevilled, the film that did, is certainly no slouch). The producer was in attendance wearing a custom t-shirt featuring the film's logo and everyone demanded to know where they could get one.

Not my favorite film at Fantastic Fest, but easily the one I had the most fun with.

God, this and Troll Hunter sound like so much fun. Hope we get 'em.

Having loved their shorts, I knew they would pull this off.

Now, y'see, I found the film a little bit 'slight'. If you're expecting a continuation of the short films you'll be disappointed. It's still very good, it just feels very different and very small. The scope and scale found in the Shorts isn't found here.

I must admit to slight disappointment. It's a pretty good movie and I liked watching it, so I'm not on the outside looking in (like with Monsters), but I wanted a bit more from this. It might just be a matter of expectations. Specifically, I don't really think this is a horror film. It definitely feels like an 80s kids adventure, but it mostly lacks even the danger of Monster Squad or Explorers, let alone something like Gremlins.

But it is really unique and a lot of fun, and if the premise appeals, you should see it. Just don't expect horror.

I agree. It was pitched as a "killer Santa" movie and I expected him to be more deranged, more of a force, more dangerous. Still, I enjoyed it. Unique and oddball.

Definitely a different beast than the original shorts, but I still liked the cinematic storytelling and world-building on display here. I wanted to see...

what the Kaiju-Krampus in the block of ice looked like

...though. Claus-teased!
