Mishmash of genres looks intriguing and badass.

I support more movies where the asian guy gets the white girl.

Nice to see The Promise didn't kill Jang Dong Gun's career.

I am down with this. Ninjas against Cowboys. That's worth a look at least.

Ahah, this looks awesome. And more than a little ridiculous. I just hope the film fulfills the promise of the trailer and gives us more battles than stupid montages of the guy training Kate Bosworth. As soon as that appeared on the screen I shuddered and thought "eh, it's fucked".

WOW! I am so there! Ninja Vs Cowboys? Maybe, Kate Bosworth will be better as the gal pal in this vs her awful performance as Lois Lane in Superman Returns. The tag line could read...Have Katana Will Travel!

Geoffrey Rush, a cowboy: "Ninjas...damn."

ahhahahaha fuck yes

How are they going to put sunglasses on Dong Gun's face for the poster if this is a period piece?

Sounds cool. But you say "Warrior's Way" and the first thing that pops into my head will always be Low Ki stomping the shit out of some poor chump.

EDIT: Thusly - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOMqa...eature=related

I like the "lone wolf and cub in the old west" concept, but I'd like the trailer a lot more if it wasn't loaded with heavenly greenscreen backgrounds.

That second image in the article is enough to sell me all by itself.

Well, as you say, I can see Lone Wolf and Cub and 300, maybe some Quick and the Dead, too... but I can also see touches of Van Helsing and Wild Wild West. Worth taking a chance, though.

Glad to see this finally getting a release - must have been 2007 when I first heard of it under the unfortunate title LAUNDRY WARRIOR. I guess it was probably mid-to-late 2008 when I initially saw a sales reel, which carried the current THE WARRIOR'S WAY title and featured mostly the same footage as the current trailer does. At no point did I expect a theatrical release in the United States for this film, so this trailer caught me totally off guard.

Wait a minute. This movie is already 2 years old?

It's that Vera Cruz moment.

On another note, Ti Lung has seen better tomorrows.

Depends. I don't know how long post-production took, or how much of the film was finished when, or if this expensive independent production just got put on pause while additional funds were scrounged up, or if the film's been significantly reworked. For example, the existing IMDB page doesn't mention Ti Lung (probably best known here from DRUNKEN MASTER II and A BETTER TOMORROW*) being in the film or the South Korean production house Sidus (VOLCANO HIGH, SAVE THE GREEN PLANET!) being involved, but both are in the credit block in the new trailer.

Here's the sales reel from June 2009, showing that at least some of it's been done for a good while. This is what I'd seen before - but it's probably not from 2008. I may have seen an older reel, or some stills, or something.

*Disciple 72 got there first.
