Last week, I saw Pulgasari for the first time. I'm floored.
I've been digging through whatever I can find, but it's incredibly limited. Who out there has any North Korean cinema recommendations?

I'd like to do a piece on it before the year is out.

Never seen any North Korean cinema. Tell you the truth, I've never thought about it at all. Looking forward to the piece when you get enough material to write about. Good luck!

The back-story of Pulgasari is worth writing a piece about all on its own. Incredibly bizarre.

That's what got me started on this little adventure.

The back story behind this really is amazing, it's great material to base a movie on.

I read a story once about how Kim Jong Il kidnapped a SK film maker and forced him to make some movie. Is that true, Anderson? Regardless, I'm eager to see your piece when you finish it up

That's what this is about, Kate.

Right now, I've got someone (not Nooj) translating some stuff for me. I can frame this piece and a few other stories just right, I'd like to start a "UNTOLD TALES OF THE WORLD CINEMA" sub-section.

I've got about five stories including Pulgasari that I'd like to develop, I just want them to be stacked.
