The trailer isn't that great but I have such epic amounts of goodwill towards this film that I laughed out loud at numerous parts regardless. I mean, it's Tim and Daisy! And they're married! It's like my Spaced fanfic come to life.

Was hoping to see glimpses of Christopher Lee and Tim Curry in there. Still looks interesting, though.

That is a pretty poor trailer, but with so much goodwill and talent for me not to see this baby. Hell, Ronnie Corbett on the big screen is worth the price of admission alone (excluding Fierce Creatures)

Digging the Victorian era Grassmarket shot which opens the trailer, almost as much as I'm digging Pegg's muttonchops

Ghoul Gang Slaughters! Fresh outrage in the Five Points!

(sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Anyway, I'm normally not the biggest Pegg fan out there, but this seems like a solid concept and cast and I'm looking forward to a chance to see the film.

That trailer was terribly cut, but still had me laughing a few times. I actually thought the cut from Fisher explaining she's a hooker to Pegg's "I need to make more money," pretty funny. But the trailer was meh. That said, I want this movie to be good, and expect it to be until I'm proved otherwise.

Serkis is leaning in to the Ulster Irish accent a little too much. It's a bit off at times, too. Enough to suck me out of this. Pegg, on the other hand, sounds much more convincing. Really solid job, but I'm not surprised after Scotty.

Somehow I forgot or didn't know Isla Fisher was in this. That's one of my favourite kinds of surprises.

The Five Points is in Manhattan, not England.

On point, all I could think of while watching this preview was I Sell The Dead. But, yeah, there's just too much good will here not to give the film a shot.

Loving the trailer but a part of me wishes Tennant was still playing Serkis' role.

Me too, Ken. Thought of him while watching the trailer.

Trailer looks ok. Simon Pegg looks like he's been at the pies.

And David "YOU MADE ME MISS" Schofield! (was also a fan of that fun cameo-wink in The Wolfman)

Mattioli, I know that. The movie is called GONY, after all.. I was just giving a shout out to a funny line from one of my favorite films since this new movie has similar plot elements (Irish people stealing bodies to sell to science)

I didn't know that, now that would've been great...

I sort of liked it, it was a bit too broad and it felt a bit 'try hard' but I'm hoping it's just a terribly cut trailer.

It's good to see a lot of British comics on the big screen as well: Stephen Merchant, Bill Bailey, Reece Shearsmith, Ronnie Corbett, Michael Smiley.

I thought the exact same thing. Granted I just purchased that film and watch bits and pieces (larf) just about every day. Makes me happier than a clam it do.

Having said that, I am really looking forward to this film. I kinda forgot it was coming out to be honest. And considering the fact that it has yet to get a U.S. release date (which will go straight to DVD/Blu) I may have a chance to forget about it again. Not necessarily a bad thing. Cuz this was a very very pleasant surprise.

Diminishing returns is setting in for me with the films involving the ex-Spaced crew. Shaun was awesome, Hot Fuzz less so. Their individual stuff hasn't really sparked with me. Good to see them going on to bigger things - their talent deserves it - but I find I'm going back to their earlier stuff more than catching up with the new. This comes over like a Carry On movie.

I still can't get over Ronnie Freaking Corbett being in the movies. Of course if he doesn't stop the film half way through, sit down in an oversized chair and take 10 minutes to tell a joke I will be disappointed.

Seriously though this weeks Radio times has an interview with Tennant and it turns out he dropped out of this movie to film a pilot for a US law show, which tanked.

More fool him.

Not that I don't love Serkis, but I can't help but imagining Pegg working really well with David Tennant.

By the way Ken, if there's anything as funny in the flick as Tennants yank accent then I think we're in for a good time

Jesus that's awful.

SON OF RAMBOW is the stuff though.

I didn't split my sides watching this, but I had a smile plastered on my face throughout. Made me think of FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS or Gilliam a wee bit (in tone).

Edgar Wright has directed three home runs as far as I'm concerned, but Simon Pegg, for all his talent, has a pretty lousy track record outside of Wright's stewardship. Right now he's the best thing about two seriously flawed blockbuster movies, and everything else is pretty much crap. Here's hoping Paul turns that around.

All this trailer confirms is that American Werewolf and Trading Places were a looooong time ago.
