I've never read the original book but I dug this as a DTV movie. The animation is great especially during the fight scenes, and the story is epic enough. While I agree the montage of Kara getting used to Earth was a bit silly, its something I feel animation can get away with that live-action couldn't. And the farm fight wasn't epic in terms of setting but it had some flat-out great moments (Kara figuring out how to dodge the Omega beam and the Superman tornado punches) and some decent character stuff so I felt satisfied. Also, I think I'm a bigger fan of Lauren Montgomery's directing than I am of Michael Turner's art.

You didn't watch the GREEN ARROW short? That was the only thing I was interested in watching. All of these DC SHOWCASE shorts wind up being better than the movies they're attached to.
