Keith David... how do you salute him? Correctly!

Nice one, Mr. Oliver!

Goddamit. Years. It took me years to conclusively learn which of these guys was named what. Becoming obsessed with Keith David when I was in high school is what finally did the trick. That rare actor who is just as good live-action as he is doing VO.

So where does MEN AT WORK fit in Keith David's ouvre? Not a hiccup, I hope.

I still get the names mixed up!

Nice one David.

I've got to say that I'm a bit sad that there's no shout out for White of the Eye, an insane thriller starring David Keith and directed by the bonkers Donald Cammell. It's a really fun and solid thriller that was way ahead of its time stylistically.

Only because I never saw it, PCW. Plus, several things got left out due to time constraints and how long it takes to put one of these together.

Is there anything skeevier than Keith David's line reading of "Maid Marian!" in Requiem For A Dream? <shudder>

Yeah, I was hitting the delete button right after their names on several dozen occasions I think.

Great CHUD SALUTES, Mr Oliver! I've long been a Keith David fan. He's a great actor, has appeared (and done well) in many of my favorite films, and he even brings his A-Game to his video game voice work (like in the ME series for XB360). He's a versatile performer, cool and hip in one role, slimy and reptilian in the next. He's one of my favorite 'character actors', and I'm proud that CHUD has taken the time to salute him

As for David Keith, I've not seen many of his biggest roles, but he did fine work as Boo Hoo Boone in TIATC. I actually met him once and spent about five minutes in his company! He was in our local theater festival, and when I was about 12 or so I thought it would be cool to walk up to the actors who were hanging out and smoking in front of the ice cream store, and attempt to bum a cigarette. I was convinced this would make me look mature (now I realize it just makes you look like a cigarette thief). I walked over to the woman standing next to Mr Keith, and inquired about the possibility of obtaining a tobacco cigarette from her. Mr Keith immediately kind of freaked out. "How old are you?!" ETC ETC. He ended up walking me down the street (because when he flipped out, I lied and said "I have to go!") and lectured me on how he had started smoking at my age and it was a habit to be avoided at all costs. He asked if I'd seen any of his movies, and I said I didn't know who he was. He told me that he'd played the cowboy in IATC and I told him that I liked him in that movie. We parted company amicably, though I failed to follow his smoking advice in later years

Never quite cared for David Keith, beside the fact that his name was uncomfortably close to the Man, Keith David, co-author of the greatest fistfight in the history of mankind, all the kung-fu movie history be damned.

What? No love for David Keith as Buck Malone in The Further Adventures of Tennesee Buck? Although, to be honest, I did fast-forward through all non-Kathy-Shower-getting-oiled-up scenes on my VHS copy of that. The filmmakers knew this, and had the good sense to put Mr. Keith all over Pamela Andersons bosom in Raw Justice, insuring he'd get some screen time in front of the 12-year-old wankers of the world.

That's a great mention.

And good on you for including KD's character in Marked for Death, David. Fave Max moment from that movie is the eye-opening trip to Jamaica when he confesses that "until today I thought all Jamaicans were dope dealing dreads". In that moment you can almost see the own race hatred leaving his undoubtedly Black Republican body. Truly blessed by Jah.
