Great idea for a column. Saw this about 15 years ago and was impressed. there should be more movies like this. Apparently the just released LEBANON is also a 'tank gem'.

Can we suggest movies?

This movie desperately deserves more love. Stumbled across it a few years ago on my local community TV station expecting a cheesy shot-em-up and was floored by the quality of this film. They aired a short documentary about it afterwards that really helped shed light on it. This, combined with 84C MoPic makes a great double-bill for War Films You Haven't Seen Night.

Fuck yeah. I really think The Beast deserved tons more love and appreciation than it got. I first watched it quite young and even my unformed teenage mind could tell that this movie had more going on about it than bullshit like Rambo III.

Cool article. This is one I need to see, always skipped over it before (director meant nothing to me, and the idea of a Dzundza/Patric pairing didn't exactly set the pants on fire)
