A family who taunted their neighbors dying daughter is feeling the wrath of 4chan.

I checked 4chan, and sure enough, they're quickly plotting vengeance. Someone posted the Petkov family's home address, phone number, a list of relatives and social network profiles. Some 4chan users are completely ambivalent, others are calling for the Petkovs' heads, and still others are praising the Petkovs for their epic troll (these folks are possibly being sarcastic).
I did some more looking in to this off of other news sites, apparently this whole feud was started when, on one of Kathleen's birthdays, her family rented one of those inflatable bounce houses. These neighbors, the Petkovs, texted the family of the girl asking if their kids could come over and were infuriated that they didn't get an immediate reply. This is the supposed reason for their hate.

So far 4chan users have sent pizzas, escort services, cabs, Mormons, exterminators, Child protective services, ect... to these people. Also they've been doing their best to get the these people fired by tormenting their bosses.

I really have little sympathy for these people, but I do worry about their kids being exposed to this.

Really sometimes the power of the internet can be frightening.

I worry more about the kids being exposed to their own monster parents than anything 4-chan does.

Sure, the cunt may have started him on it. But her husband went out of his way to BUILD A COFFIN and stick it in his truck which he SPRAY PAINTED grim reapers and skulls and shit, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think attacking the parents with pizzas and Mormons will affect the kids too much, I say fuck these people. The stuff they did was pretty horrifying so it's hard to say they don't deserve the backlash.

You kind of wish the web was more rational in it's response.. call up those peoples friends and family and expose their horrible behavior. A bunch of random harassment feels pointless, and garners sympathy for people who are not the victims in this situation

Yes, calling up total strangers, in order to tattle on the behavior of other strangers, is completely rational.

Bad as these people surely are, no one save for the individuals implicitly involved has any business dolling out retribution. People need to re-learn how to mind their own fucking business.

I'm not necessarily in favour of vigilante justice but I DON'T think people should re-learn how to mind their own fucking business. Good people turning a blind eye to injustice is part of what makes this world so messed up in the first place.

Besides, public shaming is a very effective deterrent for most people. Just look at that story about the British woman who threw a cat in a garbage bin and the resulting backlash. Think she's ever going to try and get away with animal cruelty again?

These people seem truly horrible and I doubt this experience has made them any less horrible but at least they have learned that there are very harsh consequences for being such a dick. They're under public scrutiny now and they know it.

And they're ICP fans too? Ugh, they deserve flaming shit pumpkins.

It's one thing if you were their neighbors and saw this, but if your some stranger across the country and you butt in, you're no less psychotic than these people. I guess ordering pizza to their houses isn't that bad, but Kate's suggestion of calling up individuals they know and you don't and tattling on them? That's insane.

Plus, this isn't really an injustice, not in the sense that that word usually connotates. It's just white trash being white trash. I'm not saying the assholes don't deserve baseball bats to the knees, just that we oughta to cede that action to people actually involved.
