A new spin on the old classic.

I'm always up for another adaptation of this story, and I'd love some more swashbuckling onscreen, but a Sherlock Holmes-esque retreading doesn't sound quite like as much swashbuckling as I'd hope. And this Neil Jackson? Alright, use him, but it kills my dreams of a Michael Fassbender as Percy film.

I just want to say that The Scarlet Pimpernel sounds like the foppishest name that ever fopped.

$120 million dollar budget with a no-name actor? Good luck with that.

While I can see this working (tho not with an unknown as the star at 120 - never gonna happen), even as a kid I never really got the appeal of this story in the first place.

Unless you believe the French Revolution was somehow a bad or unjust thing, where's the appeal in watching a toffy patrician save other incredibly spoiled and pampered patrician necks from their well deserved place in the guillotine?
