CLINT EASTWOOD SAYS HE NEVER TALKED TO THAT JOAQUIN PHOENIX PUNK

Good, I'd rather see someone like Joseph Gordon Levitt in the role anyway personally.

It'll be interesting as time goes on to see just how many bridges Phoenix may have burned with his little 'art piece'. Casey Affleck was pretty smart to be the one behind the camera rather than in front.

That photo makes it look like Clint is about to pull some sui ken on the photographer.

Eh All Phoenix needs is one good role, and to show up to several jobs in a row with no bullshit prima donna stuff, and he'll be back in Hollywood's good graces.

This is awesome. I love how Clint has made being a million years old seem so badass. I can picture it. "Hoax? What do you mean, hoax? Baah, damn stupid kids!" followed by the Clint Glare.

Absolutely!

What I think makes it even funnier is that Eastwood was at TIFF where the whole thing went down.

I've heard him comment on enough current cinema (he's a *huge* fan of Judd Apatow -- just try to imagine him watching "Knocked Up") that you can't put it down to senility.

He just honestly doesn't give a shit about Joaquin Phoenix.

I didn't think it was possible to respect Clint more, then he says something like this. The man is awesome.

That doesn't surprise me. Clint's sense of humour was rarely up front and center in his movies, but it was always there if you looked.

"Hypothetical situation. I'm standing on the street corner, and Mrs Grey here comes up and propositions me. She says if I come home with her for five dollars she'll put on an exhibition with a Shetland pony."

I liked Phoenix, but his stunt tried my patience and frankly I'm a little sick of him at this point. It's kind of like the Ben Affleck situation: I liked the dude, but by 2005 he was over exposed and I needed a separation period before I could enjoy him in a film again

Good luck, Joaquin, see you in a few years. In the mean time, I think you deserve a cinematic time out and I'm glad to see that Eastwood is first in line to deliver it.

Oh, I agree. He could deliver the dry jokes like no one's business. His comedic timing in Two Mules for Sister Sara is actually quite wonderful, and it's a shame he's been pinned as so damn grim.

He also adored Tropic Thunder. It was his favorite of 2008.

All of which makes him cooler than the dude he oh-so-casually dissed.
