I know this is mainly aimed at sites that deal with copyright infringment. But I firmly believe the internet should be completely free of censorship in any form, it should be totally free and open. If piracy is the price for the freedom of the greatest network of information, then so be it. Censorship should not be the answer to battling piracy. The path to censorship is slippery.

The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) was introduced just one week ago, but it's greased and ready to move, with a hearing in front of the Judiciary Committee this Thursday. If people don't speak out, US citizens could soon find themselves joining Iranians and Chinese in being blocked from accessing broad chunks of the public Internet.
If this passes it could be one of the most significant moments in the history of the internet.
