Brian Kilmeade: 'All Terrorists Are Muslims'

Quote:
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade claimed Monday morning that "all terrorists are Muslims."

In a follow-up discussion to Bill O'Reilly's appearance on "The View" Thursday — in which Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off the set after O'Reilly claimed "the Muslims killed us on 9/11" — the "Fox & Friends" co-host both dismissed the "View" debate as elementary and made the shocking claim.

"That debate is almost like our debate on training wheels," Kilmeade said of the "View" discussion. "That was our debate seven weeks ago, and they can't handle the give-and-take of a debate. They were outraged that somebody was saying...there was a certain group of people that attacked us on 9/11. It wasn't just one person, it was one religion. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims."

Fox News SVP of Programming Bill Shine says Kilmeade will address the comments on Monday.

"Brian was talking about the events on 'The View' yesterday and was referring to the radical extremists who killed Americans on 9/11," Shine told the Huffington Post. "Obviously, not all terrorists are Muslim and Brian will clarify this point on television and radio on Monday."
How come terrorists never try and attack people like these? Why shoot up an Army base, but not the set of Fox & Friends? Not that I WISH that (I don't), but why not target the people ACTUALLY insulting and hurting you and your religion?

WTF? Until 9/11, America's largest domestic terrorist attack was perpetrated by a radical right wing christian! What about George Tiller? What about the terror directed at abortion clinics, both providers and patients?

EDIT What about the IRA?

WHAT ABOUT THE TALK-BACKERS?

What Kate said, although calling McVeigh a "radical right wing Christian" is a bit of a stretch, and clumps him in with a completely different type of extremist group than the ones he considered himself affiliated with.

He was definitely not a Family Research Council member, but he was a Christian and espoused right wing ideology. You're right though that usually when you hear that phrase you think of a different group of people; I should have been more precise with my language.

Wait, I was just listening to some podcast (can't recall at the moment) talking about religious terrorism, and McVeigh wasn't a Christian by any stretch. Extreme right wing, but not a Christian. He was raised in a Catholic home, and was confirmed as a kid, but dropped it long ago. According to Lou Michel and Dan Herbeck's American Terrorist: Timothy McVeigh and The Oklahoma City Bombing, two reporters who did 45 hours worth of interviews with McVeigh, he was agnostic.

There was apparently a Rachael Maddow show on the 15th anniversary discussing the book and the tapes. I found those quotes from a web conversation on The Buffalo News website

That's why it's a stretch.

That's a good book, by the way.

Question: If someone blew up a federal building and was a non practicing muslim (had been raised that way, but didn't pray five times a day and loved BLTs), would the media refer to them as a muslim terrorist?

Yes.

Yes.
It wouldn't be the first time the media made a mistake.

Let me give you a HUGE example of what "the media" tells you. I worked at a company here in Atlanta for 10 years, and still have many friends there. Inside of the main office, it's set up with balconies, sort of like hotels are. About 2 months ago, a guy jumped off the top floor (5th) and died when he hit the floor in the middle of the lobby. I know about this because a few friends that still work there told me about it. Not ONE single iota of information about it came out in the media. Nowhere. Not on the internet, not in the local newspaper, not on the nightly news. Keep in mind this guy died in the middle of a Fortune 100 company's lobby by committing suicide.

You can find hits from Google/Bing searches, but every one you click on leads to a dead link (no pun intended). That just floors me that you can find references with the guy's name, etc., but you can't find the actual information.

Did he jump, or was he pushed?

...oh, wait, you said suicide?

(You probably should of added a 'no pun intended' to 'That just floors me...')

Not an avid The View watcher or anything, so I don't give a shit about the others, but Joy Behar is normally pretty great. Always leave her HLN show on in the background if I'm in. She can be very funny, has mostly the right views politically, plus (out of solidarity I suppose) she tends to have stand-up comedians on instead of the usual boring talking heads.
