I have not tried the genius thing yet, and I only recently learned what it was. I thought it just was for making smart play lists, but it's essentially a tool to try to get you to buy stuff I guess. It suggests you buy a bunch of songs (or movies) to complete it's suggested "genius" list

It's a little crass, and sad to see it from Apple, but at least you can turn it off. It's too bad, too. I like the genius logo (it's an old style atom symbol!)

Anyway, sorry it told you to watch Shanghai Knights, Nick

After reading this I kinda want to turn on Genius when I sync my Ipod tonight and see what it comes up with.

I still maintain that Shanghai Knights is worth it just for the great swordfight at the end. Probably one of the better fight scenes of the aughts.

Also, 'that one dude'? Meowtch.

Splinter is great. Haven't seen Altered. But yeah, considering the budget and all, Alien Raider turned out better than I could have expected. I remember talking about it in the Creature Corner.

Genius is pretty amazing when it cobbles together a music playlist from my own library. I almost never find myself questioning any of its choices but holy hell that movie recommendation list is pretty terrible.

Netflix used to be out of whack with its recommendations in the past but I just looked and it seems they've really gotten a handle on it. All of the recommendations seem to make sense now. Good to know.
