It's out today, isn't it!

ORDER NOW!

Shit, now I own a piece of crap!

Never seen an ARGENTO film in my life but this was a great article. Love behind the scenes drama like this (though it's always sad when a film sees this kind of difficulty in getting released). Made for good reading, thanks again, CHUD!

PS Not a huge Brody fan (he's grown on me, but I'm still bitter about his victory over DDL in 2002), but I see nothing wrong with those photos of him. They're at least as good as most photos I see of the actor. I think he was perhaps just exercising his 'right to complain' clause for the heck of it; I'd doubt that he's actually displeased with his likeness in those shots

You should at the very least see Deep Red and Suspiria. Argento has fallen off drastically in recent years, but his early works are still wonderful bits of deranged madness. Netflix them (or better yet purchase them since some are released through Blue Underground. Your street cred instantly goes up with early Argento in your home collection).

I'll pick this up at some point. After Sleepless and Phantom of the Opera I'm wary of his later work. But Jenifer and Pelts keep me hoping for soemthing from him after all these years.

I definitely intend to see them sometime. I've seen clips from them on VHI's 100 SCARIEST MOVIE MOMENTS (or whatever it's called) program. Thanks for the suggestion, Peter!

Just stick with earlier work and you'll see what the fuss is about. Mother of Tears will likely leave you in them.

If I had a dime for every piece of crap I bought because of the involvment of someone I like...I could buy more crap.

Well 'tis the season for horror movies so maybe I should add some to my queue before Halloween rolls around.

Do it!

Don't add "Do You Like Hitchcock?". Don't any of you add that.

Ha. Just watched the trailer for that. The synthesized rip-off of Led Zep's "Kashmir" is ridiculous. I think Sands (in the right flick) could play a decent Phantom, but why isn't he disfigured?

Well he's raised by rats see...ah, nevermind. It really isn't worth explaining.

Read the article again, Princess. It has nothing to do with his being unhappy or not with his image. It's the clause of the contract he's exercising due to being unhappy about being lied to and cheated out of $640,000.

No, I understand that.. He had final control over any use of his image in the films advertising, and he's exercising that control because he's PO'd with the film situation. It seems disingenous though, that's all.. I doubt he's making a stink because he doesn't like the image (the reason that clause is in his contract); he's just using that loophole to get back at the film makers.

“This redundancy had been brought to by the Department for Redundancies Dpt.”

I skimmed the headline and I thought it read 'ADRIEN BRODY HATES THE COLOR GALLO'.

That's exactly what our burgeoning genre scene needs right now. Ripping off the only halfway decent actor to waste his time on an italian production in god knows how long is a surefire way to lure solid talent to work here.

I wish these old-school producer scams lead to old-school horror films.
I'm hoping this is holy-fucking-shit bad so if it is, holla.
Well, this article confirmed that I don't need to track this film down as an Argento completist. Good news!
I had been curious about the movie for some time, and I'll probably still see it anyway, but that's messed up. He's an Oscar winner, and they got him to do this little Italian horror movie that was Argento's next, and the producers just had to go and fuck it all up.

I only saw "Do You Like Hitchcock?" because it came in that Argento collection dvd set that had anamorphic copies of Tenebre and Phenomena. Yeah, it's not a very good movie.

I can't help but still be curious about this thing despite all the warnings. I know the stove is hot but I keep putting my hand on the burning where Argento is concerned.

Then hurry. New news.

By the way, it's gone "unavalible" on Netflix as of a few days ago. Was sitting in my queue but never got around to it.
