"Persis Don't Chat."

You high bastard.

Can't wait to revisit this. Need the price to come down a skosh.

Yeah. The current price is very unrealistic.

The level of child abuse in this moment is enough to make Bing Crosby rise from the grave and beat the shit out of Tasha Yar with a sock full of Valencia oranges.
Awesome.

Phil and Pop Zeus beat me to commenting on my favorite two lines in the review. Well done, sir. Never did see this, but I'll put it in the queue.

Besides everything else, Splice had some of the best creature design and execution I've ever seen. Dren is absolutely phenomenal. I don't know about eligibility but this movie better get some love come awards time.

The special feature doc on the regular DVD is the first time I've ever seen Natali speak and I loved how geeky and enthusiastic he was, seems like a really warm guy. I still have issues with how the film rushes towards the goal line, but Dren is such a spectacularly complex character with equally complex relationships, so it's still a lovely film to dig into.

Yeah, it's a great use of practical methods mixed with digital work. Super impressive but I don't think it's "showy" enough to win many awards.

The MSRP of most discs is ludicrous, I don't see this being any different as it's $20-25 in stores.

Blu-ray price points are some kind of Wild West where prices get low so randomly that I've been spoiled and I don't see myself spending more than $15 on a contemporary film. PSYCHO is $18, for Pete's sake. And it's PSYCHO.

I really liked this film and this review. The character studies and themes regarding parenting, social roles and abuse are very strong in SPLICE. The score by Cyrille Aufort really works to benefit the film as well.

I'd have been OK with the ridiculously high price if they hadn't roadblocked Netflix from carrying it until next month. For a film that really, desperately needs word of mouth to get building so it's not forgotten by this time next year, hiding it from the biggest rental company for a month during the official month of horror was a dumb decision.
