Did you see TRIANGLE, Alex? I thought that was a quantum leap above SEVERANCE.

Triangle was terrific in many ways. A mature and surprisingly involving little horror flick with a great central premise. Looking forward this.

I loved Severance. Just a movie that plays better each time you put your eyes to it. Certainly don't find it "forgettable."

Also love Alex's writing, so there.

And good to hear nice things about Triangle. I've put off watching that for some reason.

Black Death is surprisingly fun.

I actually found that Triangle shit the bed with the lights on as soon as the protagonists made it to the boat. It's well made, it's refreshing in terms of its approach to horror, it's well acted, but it tips its hand way, way too early for my liking. I think I enjoyed Severance more; it's more sure of itself even if it's not as technically competent and original.

Regardless, I like Smith, and I like Bean, and I like the idea of the two of them exploring this subject matter together. Pretty cool!

I thought Triangle was great too (this thread is incomplete without the same boring complaint on how it ripped Timecrimes)

Been a fan of Chris Smith ever since the flawed but decent Creep, and liked everything he's done since then. Really looking forward to this new one.

I'm appallingly unfamiliar with Smith's work (I just don't seek out enough horror outside of October), but I really want to see Black Death. The medieval era is rich with horror movie potential, and I'm eager to see someone exploit it.

SOLOMON KANE and SEASON OF THE WITCH (Nic Cage) thought so too. 3 flicks seemingly made to push my genre buttons all waiting to reach my eyeballs.

I'm pissed another year has come and gone, and there's still no Solomon Kane on DVD in the states.

Is Kane ever coming state side? Even just for a DVD release? I've been waiting to see it ever since Devin's review

Anyway, this PLAGUE film looks great, and I love Mr Bean. MAGNET seems to be involved in the distribution of many many films that I've found enjoyable, and IMHO they are building a reputation for quality. I hope PLAGUE keeps that record going.

PS I did not really like TRIANGLE, I like Ms George, but found the movie to be dull and turned it off after 30 minutes (I assumed I'd guessed the twist, and didn't want to stick around to find out if I was correct)

Maybe I'll give it a second chance one day though
