2010-11 NBA SEASON - Page 2

What are you guys thoughts on the KG trash talking controversy? The whole point of trash talking is to get under a person's skin. You are going to be mean and nasty. If he called Charlie Villanova a "cancer patient", so what? Settle it on the court. Don't whine about it to the media. To be clear, it would be different if he said it to him face to face off the court, but this happened (allegedly) in the heat of the game. Ugly shit happpens. Much ado about nothing, all things.

On a positive note, after last night, looks like John Wall is the real deal, although the dance was kinda retarded. Breaking ankles like a young A.I..

Congrats to Heisley for maintaining his status as one of the worst owner's in the NBA. Conley was drafted too high to begin with, and now he gets a contract like this? Methinks Heisley is actively trying for contraction.

It's ugly, and probably should have been kept on the court. What makes KG look even worse is his lame attempt to spin it away into something else:

As long as I can remember, KG has always been known as a crazy trash talker. If that's what he'll say on Twitter, imagine what he says on the court.

Sacramento, even they're down fifteen right now, albeit to the Lakers, looks like an amazing young team with lots of potential. I wonder if they can hold on to it and let it develop.

I kind of love that his explanation is "Hey, I only said he was cancerous to his team and the league."

Well, there's trash talking, and then there's trash talking. I do think KG crossed the line, because cancer (like other terminal illness) should not be used to "get under other players' skins". It's classless and insensitive. And KG's own explaination of the whole incident was simply ridiculous. However, maybe KG will learn what should and should not be said next time he decides to trash talk again.

The Celtics win a shoot out, the Hawks are 6-0, and I'm now officially on the Hornets bandwagon.
ZING! on LeBron.
Great burn.

They're right, he ran from a challenge to play with his buddies, no great player in the history of the league would have done the same thing. He's very at home in Miami, who only show up when the team is good and are otherwise at the beach or hitting up a nightclub. He's a bandwagoner and a quitter.
Good to see my Pacers in the news again. 20/21 in the 3rd and scoring freaking 54 points. HAHAHAHA awesome.

The Jazz-Heat game had one of the best come from behind endings I've ever seen. In terms of clutch men cluch moments, shades of Chapman stealing one for the Suns.

Not sure what kind of play the Heat ran at the end of overtime, but no way it should come down to Eddie House.

Watching Community and Fringe was better.

The Miami coach looks 12.
The score said the Celts won by 5, but the way these teams played, they actually won by about 15. The Heat need a coach with a team vision, not some individual player developer/scout. Spoelstra is not presently equipped to handle this team. They also need a solid point guard, or someone who can actively manage the floor, move the ball, better than Lebron, a player proving to be limited by his own ego (point to assists but all I see is a player trying look good in numbers - the guy needs to let his teammates shine, which hasn't happened with the Heat). Wade was out there on the floor for the last couple minutes of this game, if I recall correctly, but he didn't touch the ball once. Bosh is sort of standing there, studying it, trying to figure out his place, inactive. That team has so much talent. They need to make some big managerial changes, and then they will be nasty. But right now they are one of, if not the greatest letdown in recent NBA history.

And meanwhile, the Nuggets demoralize LA. I know it's a pipe dream, but I really hope Mello stays in Denver. They looked amazing tonight, Nene proving Pau Gasol to be amongst the 5 most overrated players in the NBA. A good night for basketball!
Everyone is entitled to a bad night, if you seriously think Pau is overrated at all you simply must not watch him much.

Same old LA, they've been doing this for 3 years and been in the finals 3 times.
I think he was lucky in that he was able to get on a team which allowed his specific skill set to thrive.
Also, I've watched him plenty, especially in post season. Gasol's moving pick, wide shoulder thing with Kobe running his own iso is the most disgusting, distasteful thing happening in basketball today.

Wow, Kevin Love! First 30-30 game since Moses Malone.

I'm bummed about my Hawks. Damn. After the great start, 4 losses in a row.
He consistently took Memphis to the playoffs in a stacked west. Memphis. You're exaggerating strongly. Any post player in the game would be better playing with Kobe through his peak, Gasol is the 2nd best offensive post player in the NBA, and is only lagging behind the best PF of all time.

30-30 is crazy.

Most underrated team in the league? The Spurs. 7 in a row. I think they're playing better than the Hornets, and if their big 3 stays healthy, with Jefferson now clicking, might be more dangerous than everybody out West but the Lakers.

That's not to downplay the Jazz though, all the sudden, with their clutch come-from-behind wins, Sloan's boys have become one of the most fun teams to watch. I think in the long run Jefferson will be the better player over Boozer.

Hornets have better defensive numbers against better competition, and the beat the Spurs fairly soundly. Not saying the Hornets are better, because the Spurs have the skins on the wall. Its a long season, we'll see.

Looks like Greg Oden is out for the rest of the year. Has that guy ever finished a season?

I see what you did there!

According to ProbasketballTalk, there are discussions about extending Greg Oden's contract. I think that's bullshit, but you never know...

Any team that want to sign him (despite his long history of injuries) should only sign him on a year-to-year basis, because right now the only consistency from Oden now is that he will miss games due to reoccurence of old injury.

The Pacers? 3 points by Wade? And Juwan Howard playing 16 minutes off the bench. Hasn't Chris Webber been on TNT/ESPN for a few years now?

Shoulda taken your talents to Chicago LeBron. Rose and Noah are beasts.

Fun watching them lose.
Oh Miami...what a mess
Glorious.
The Cleveland fans, much like their team, are the epitome of impotent.

With all apologies to the TNT announcers, especially Reggie Miller, the Heat beating the Cavaliers is not the start of a turnaround for Miami: It's just the Cleveland Cavaliers being the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I LOVED watching that crowd go silent. Get the fuck over it, you whiny pathetic bitches.

Yes, and agreed.
Wow really? Are you guys both Heat fans? They are certainly playing the victim, but it's hard for me to imagine people siding with James when he's blowing the team up for 40, chatting on the sidelines with Gibson and giving the Cavs bench the evil eye after hitting a fade away...
I do think The Decision was poorly handled, but the fans' incessant, over-the-top whining has lost them any sympathy that I had for them. Move on, people.

Who would've guessed that Boston vs New York would turn out to be the match up of the month. The streak ends tonight NY.
Fuck the Celtics. Amare killed it tonight.

Also, bravo to our Bulls.
I couldn't believe the reaction to Amare's shot. I could've gotten up and gotten a glass of water by the time he let go of that ball.

I can't believe what a beast Stoudemire has become! He went from a poor man's Shawn Kemp to the new Moses Malone. Man has my MVP vote.
Well, looks like the Magic aren't screwing around.

Washington gets Rashard Lewis, Phoenix gets Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, the Magic's #1 pick next year and cash, and Orlando gets Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, and Earl Clark.

If this means more Brandon Bass in the starting lineup, I'm all for it.

I really like that trade for Orlando. Gilbert Arenas gives you guys a wild card. I think he can really make a difference come play-off time.
I feel bad for Steve Nash. What a terrible organization the Suns have turned into. They should trade him too while he still has value.
If you were the Heat, would you do everything you could to get Nash?

I don't know...as a Suns fan, I don't view this trade as a bad thing. Yeah, we lose J Rich, but we also got rid of Turkulu (sp) and we get another big man and a first round pick for 2011.
The Suns are gonna love Gortat. Dude can play, he just had the misfortune of being behind Dwight Howard.

The Suns had Steve Nash in his prime but could never surround him with enough to get to the finals. It's not just this trade, they are famous for trading away draft picks and receiving virtually nothing in return in order to save a buck. How would Luol Deng and Rajon Rondo look on the Suns right about now? Gortat is a decent player but make no mistake, this was another salary dump.
