Shawn Ryan’s THE CHICAGO CODE - Page 3

Some overdue focus on Wysocki's personal life, which is good.  And the Liam storyline finally looks like its going somewhere, but Billy Lush's performance still just isn't getting the job done.  I'm torn between thinking it's too obvious for him to get himself killed, and not wanting a more valuable cast member to take the loss from his next big fuck up.

Canceled.

Maybe I'm the only one who's sad?

I thought the last three or four episodes have been fantastic.

No, I'm dissapointed too. Sure there was stuff that didn't work (like almost everything with Wysocki's niece) but the stuff that did work was pretty good. Lindo especially was awesome.

This show needed to go.  It tried to jam Chigagoisms down our throat, cliche storylines, too white-Chicago is near 40/40 split of black&white, and no edge to it.  I don't expect The Shield/Wire level stories on Network tv, but The Irish mob was the wrong direction.  It was jus another generic show.

Lie To Me and Human Target also axed-only Lie to me makes me sad.

You are right dude.

So, did anybody else watch the series finale?  I guess it wrapped everything up, with Gibbons in jail, though I suppose keeping him there would have been season 2 if it had gotten one.

It was a pretty decent episode overall, but the show as a whole never really gelled for me.  The niece and her cop boyfriend just ended up feeling pretty superfluous for instance.  Same as Colvin's new driver.

Ah well, it's over, and it felt kinda slight.  I guess bring on the next FOX drama.

Yeah, not too bad for the finale, even though it seemed too predictable.

I though the end with Colvin picking up that dude at the bar was weird. The whole end music montage was weird in fact.

She's too busy to have a real relationship or something.  They could have had her be having a relationship with her new driver I suppose, though didn't he pretty much disappear after only showing up one or two times?

Did this get rewritten to work as a series finale or was this always intended as the season finale?  Because things worked very neatly, even though the Irish mobster got killed, they still got Gibbons.  And the UC's family seemed to come out of nowhere.  Was it ever mentioned before that his family thought he was what he was undercover as?  I suppose they couldn't have really delved too deeply into that before since he's supposed to be undercover and all.

The superintendent discussed what it would mean for her to date with the SAC: she couldn't date anyone because it would cause problems in the media and with the politicians. I guess picking up random conventioneer means you don't have to worry about anyone really seeing you out on a date, especially with the SAC for Chicago.

I think that would only be true if she was dating a cop/politician/reporter, something in the circle of crime/politics/etc.  I can't imagine that it would be too big of an issue if she was dating a doctor or something, though a TV show would probably tie them together in a plot.
