Another great class. Keep it up, teach.

These are fucking great. I'm a little pissed there are only going to be nine of them.

Bridget Fonda is teetering on the precipice of Worthless Girl territory as far as Lake Placid goes. You could make a drinking game out of how many times she falls over, is thrown into the water, screams her damn head off, etc.

Sooo good. I like that you have it planned out in 9 parts in advance. Will lead to a more perfect product.

Another good one. Serious nostalgiLOL at "Genevieve Bujold".

BTW, although Baboon Holocaust is sadly only a hypothetical movie, In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro is actually real and as I remember, not a bad little flick (no John Saxon, instead you get Sallah and a pre-Dubya Tim Bottoms):

The BIO channel has recently been airing a really cool documentary on Nightmare on Elm Street this month, and during the course of the doc they, of course, talk about Freddy's Revenge. One of the things mentioned (besides the fact that even everyone who was part of the production now recognizes the obvious homo-erotic overtones) is that the main character of Jesse isn't really the hero. In fact, by the end of 2 his "girlfriend" actually ends up becoming the hero of the piece. Jesse just spends the entire film shrieking like a girl and being completely useless to anyone other than Krueger. After reading this entry it got me thinking that maybe this film showcases a good - if rare - example of the Worthless Boy?

That is an amazing doc.

FREDDY'S REVENGE indeed has a fun gender flip, although Lisa and Jesse aren't a Couple - the story is too plainly Jesse's, and Lisa doesn't really become relevant until close to the end. But, indeed, if they were a Couple, Lisa would most definitely be a Protector. She's the one who ultimately defeats Freddy.

And I'm glad people are enjoying the series! Hugs for horror.

That's actually another amusing thing they mention in the Nightmare doc - they kind of suggest that the couple in the film is actually Jesse and Grady. Though that doesn't quite work either, as Grady gets killed two-thirds into the film.
