New Mission: Impossible film gets a title.

I'll bet the farm that title changes within a year.

That won't be the final title. It'll be MI:IV or something.

Looks like they're doing their damnedest to get away from whatever factors led to MI3's lackluster box-office.

While it sounds more like an Tom Clancy Xbox title
My thoughts exactly.

Can't wait to see posters that say M4SS4ON 4MPOSS4BL4:: G4OS4 P4OTOCO4. Because you know someone, somewhere is considering it

Then they should recast Tom Cruise, make a better film, and erase the memories of anyone who saw MI2. ;-)

I actually like it. In the end, titles don't really matter, but I think it's a pretty cool one. Better than the other franchise title announced this week, at least.

I wonder if, along with this change in approach to the title, they're going to start adding more continuity/mythos to this series instead of going about it like a 'rogue-agent of the week' show as they have been.

I'll bet the original title, Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol: The Forbin Project: Resurrection: The Final Chapter: Part II would have sent marquees crashing to the ground.

I thought the new title was "The Mission" or "Impossible" am I remembering things wrong?

I dunno if I missed some sarcasm in the article, but the movie's been filming for almost a month now. It might've been the first day of filming in Dubai, but they've been filming for 3-4 weeks in Prague aleady. There's been set pics almost every day.

And as for "let it slip", ummm...

Like I said, maybe I missed some subtle sarcasm or something (hopefully).

Anyways, the idea was to spin-off the series with Renner in the lead for the 5th movie and making the series his, so doing away with the numerical suffix is a good way to do that.

From the article..

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.
Haha, am I the only one who because of the placement of the colon reads and pronounces it as:

I think that title is rad!

I have to agree it sounds like a videogame, but there is nothing outright terrible about it. It's intriguing, it makes you want to find out just what exactly an impossible ghost protocol is.

PS In all seriousness though they'd do well to move the colon to after the word "impossible"

Just because they didn't put the hyphen in the logo doesn't mean one doesn't go there (there's obviously one).

Eh, I think it's about as obvious as WAR ZONE PUNISHER. As in, not very.
