Not really much to add, as this is being talked to death* in two other threads - but wanted to say your writing continues to entertain and is just damn good stuff, Renn.

*and I'm guilty of feeding the monster, I know.

YES!!! Not all that surprised, but also very glad.

Still hate that title, but this is great news. Not everything has to be in 3D. (I'm also cynical enough to know that this could change anyway.)

"Fads"? Give me a break. Did you read the INCEPTION article where Nolan said he would have shot in 3D if the cameras could do what he wants, Renn? He's a fan of the format, he just isn't comfortable with the current tech. He's gone on record saying he wants to make a 3D film.

I'm glad that Nolan has enough principle to skip 3D, and he now has enough clout in Hollywood to force WB to support his decision. Good for him.

This is almost worth charging a glass to the guy for over the weekend. Well played Mr. Nolan, well played.

This is great news in my opinion. I'm tired of everything being done in 3D. Its an overused fad for sure.

This post deserves a nice steak dinner.

But he doesn't have enough clout to force a half-assed decent name onto the project?

Good for him. The studio should have as much say on whether his film should be 2D or 3D as on what software he uses to write the script. It's a tool. If he doesn't feel the movie needs it, the movie doesn't need it. End of story.

Oh, you'll change your tune when Christina Hendricks is cast as Catwoman.
