Black-listed script gets a reading, has a star ready to go.

Anything takes makes Plaza a star is well received.

I second that, Andres.

Aubrey probably will be a star by the time NBC pulls their heads out of their asses and puts PARKS AND REC back on.

If it puts Plaza in the lead, I'm all for it.

Yeah, for a long time I saw Aubrey Plaza as somewhat limited in range but she's the real deal.

Just saw Plaza in FUNNY PEOPLE. Liked what I saw.

I like her face.

And I want Parks & Recreation back on.

Interesting. Good to know there is an effort afoot to correct the gender disparity when it comes to teen sex comedies. I like the idea of turning life's citrus-y interpersonal trials and tribulations into comedy lemonade, so I'd probably see it since apparently alot of people think the script is worthwhile

PS Why would it be "blacklisted"? The title? Or the fact it's not about frat boys? In the past, writers were black listed because of (percieved) ties to the communist party ETC

EDIT: Thanks to Patrick for the clarification on the black list issue

The Black List is an annual list of the best unproduced screenplays of any given year. The idea is to give a spotlight to great scripts that were passed up by the studios and hopefully give them a second chance at production, like in this case.

Ah OK, that answered my question perfectly! I knew the phrase "black list" was getting tossed around to refer to unproduced but worthwhile scripts, but I didn't know if that was a phrase people were using to suggest the writers or content of the scripts were unpopular in Hollywood, or if it was just a list of scripts that were good but not being made for a variety of reasons.

Anyway, thanks for the info, Patrick. I found it interesting that the list is compiled entirely by one individual.

PS I read about "THE MUPPET MAN" on the link you posted, and that would probably be the BLACK LIST script I'd most want to see
