I'm a big fan of found footage too. I also don't have any animosity towards Emmerich. I enjoy some of his films, and even when I feel let down (by the acting and action in 2012*), the special effects are always worth a look

It's going to be cool to see what he cooks up for this genre, and perhaps it will force him to spend more time on characterization since the plot will have a less than global scale


*The action was poorly shot, and missed it's potential. Way way too much green screen work, the actors rarely felt like they were in the same location the special effects were taking place in
