The gaming section of this site blows monkey ass. I don't come here for that type of discussion (the gaming side here is heavily casual, I am dare I say more hardcore) and I have other forums for that. Those first two hours are totally useless but I do appreciate the effort to beef up the MCP portion of the site. Alex is a good writer.

I know Slater would hate for me to agree with him, but he hit the nail on the head. I still love Chud, and it's community, but it feels like this place doesn't have any kind of voice at the moment. Just seeing what sticks. I'm sure in the coming months someone (probably Rappe) is going to come to the fore as the new voice, but at the moment everything feels kind of nebulous and desperate.

It was a dumb picture of a cartoon vagina covered in magnetic shavings. How is it an "ad hominem attack"?

The tone of chud has always been a mix of lowbrow humor and alongside really smart writing. The mix of the two is what makes chud unique.

Was it necessary? Not really. Was it funny? It was amusing. In the long run would it have done any harm to leave it alone? No.

I can't believe I missed this entire discussion. I only saw the first Vagina Of The Day yesterday, and that was hilarious. It's exactly something I'd come to expect from CHUD, and that's why I love this site so much.

Sad to see this promising daily activity go because some people were complaining about it. Love the vagina. WORSHIP IT.

The whole thing was (so far) two pictures in a facebook photo album, not even hosted on CHUD, not considered actual CHUD content. Just something linked to in this thread.

I don't imagine that many people read chud exclusively for film news and content. There's great stuff all over. But there is and should be an air of fun on this site, a little silliness. Life's too short.

Who'd have thought a torso-toy would be so divisive?

To be fair, I called those bitching about the photos vaginas. Nick agreed. But he and Slater have history, so I didn't take Nick's comment to be about everyone. Just one particular person. Just my reading though.

I find the video game discussion here to be one of the few places on the web I can find adult discussion on the topic and not man-child "We're HARDCORE GAMERZ!!!111" tripe. Alex and Trevor (with a little help from Steve and Nick) are doing good work there, and I can always trust the members of the board to give me the straight dope on a game and not automatically go on about how the newest GTA/Halo/Metal Gear game is the greatest game ever. Just got caught up on this thread. Sounds like there are a bunch of people who didn't get their checks on time.

Personally the only reason I come to anything online is to have fun, so I love the direction the site is going. That's not to say I won't have a serious discussion when I feel like talking, but I'm not going to get bent over a joke. I'm actually pissed and disappointed that I missed the joke before Nick took it down because of a bunch of whiners. Learn to laugh, people, it enriches your life more than you can imagine.

Every vagina enthusiast should take a day and read The Death of Bunny Munro by Nick Cave. There's much appreciation to be had about the wonderful vag in that work.

This whole post is kind of arrogant and self-important. If you'd read the thread you'd realize that 1) it wasn't just a case of 4 or 5 people in an office thinking it was hilarious, a lot of people (including myself) found it funny even if you didn't and 2) the first few comments in this thread took a cute little ancillary joke that the office staff thought they'd share with their friends on the boards and DID use it as a mandate against everything they do ("Bar lowered," "is this what CHUD has become?" etc).

Instead of telling the staff what they should realize, maybe some of you dudes should realize that not everything done is going to work for you and if you don't like something just let it ride and let others enjoy it as they see fit, rather than take your respective high-horses (even if they're well-intentioned high horses) out for a test drive.
