Something about that little girl reminds me of a young Mickey Rourke.

I know Nick probably doesn't want something like this happening and I'll refrain from making a thread specifically for it but:

The King is dead. The crown is passed. Long live the Queen!

Miss Rappe has been pretty terrific recently.

That she has. A parade for Miss Rappe!

Great to see casting trundling along. Don't really have a whole lot more to say than that, it's just nice to be reminded that this is actually happening.

I'm disappointed that Nesbitt has been cast as a dwarf. He's a great actor and one of the more well known cast members so far. Surely they could have found a better role for him than 6th dwarf from the left. I'm sure Jackson will want to really develop each of the dwarves and give them unique personalities, but he's got his work cut out for him.

If he's giving character time for every dwarf, that would be a ridiculous reason for two films.

He turned Gimli, Legolas and Faramir into actual characters. I don't think he's just casting warm bodies here.

I don't really know any of these actors (to my knowledge), and I last "read" THE HOBBIT when it was read aloud to me in 5th Grade, but all the same good to see that this film is really finally moving towards production

True, but that doesn't mean we're getting expanded screen time for them. It could just mean that he hopes good actors in these roles will give the characters dimension without having to spend excess screen time developing them.

James Fricken Nesbit? Damn thats unexpected but great casting.

Oh and add me to the growing list that loves Miss Rappe's work.

He has two movies to fill remember.

Edit to clarify (Monty made a similar comment for the other side):
"Excess" screen time is a subjective term. Over two movies each character could accumulate quite a bit of screen time without it being "excessive". No doubt they'll shoot for the extended cuts then whittle back for the cinema versions.

Was there anybody in the fellowship who got short shrift?
Boromir died first and he got plenty of time to shine.

Why would these guys get a bum deal, because they're dwarves?
Racist!
