Actually quite the opposite. I was saying that his last few articles have been very well written. High quality, which I expect from CHUD. And was adding in praise for one so we didn't lose another.

I am enjoying the new CHUD so far. Really appreciating the increase in content from Dellamorte and Renn Brown. Glad to see Nick doing more posting himself on the site, too.

Devin almost drove me away from the site. He spent so much time here spewing bile and trolling the side's readership, insulting them on the front page and on the message boards. I lurked mostly to avoid him, and eventually I'd had enough and said, "fuck this fucking site, this guy's in charge of it and he's the worst of humanity."

His departure brought me back full-time to see what I've been missing here. I still hate the stuff that he posted when he was ruling the show. I'm not sure how he got almost complete-control of the site, but thankfully those days are long behind us.

With him out of the way, the site's become a classier joint. Still funny, still silly, but classier. It's not going out of its way to insult the people who read it by telling them that their movies and beliefs are for retards; it's playing along WITH them, embracing film and genre and yet poking fun at it. That's key. That's what we need.

Granted, I didn't care for the Bodily Function Junction. That was lowest-common-denominator shit, and I think the site's sense of humor is above that noise. But otherwise, it's going in the right direction.

Devin worked to make CHUD into the Glenn Beck of entertainment journalism. What CHUD needs to be is The Daily Show.

That is cool news about the DVD review archive! It actually ties right in to one of the changes I'd advocated in the THINGS CHUD.COM SHOULD DO thread. I'd said that the quality of the film criticism found in the DVD reviews was top notch, and an effort should be made to spotlight that work as a resource for people wanting to read up on various films. It will be cool when we're able to flip through and read about various movies or read reviews that highlight what's different about in an extended DVD cut than in the theatrical release, ETC
