Biden has been parked outside of Ed Harris' house in a limo for the past several months trying desperately get in & congratulate his wife on Harris' bold mission to the stars.

Allen West to Obama: Stop bragging about taking out Osama bin Laden

Quote:

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) said Friday that President Barack Obama needs to stop boasting about killing Osama bin Laden, saying that it was Navy SEALS who killed the terrorist leader, not the president.

"Please stop with the Osama Bin Laden line, U.S. Navy SEALS double-tapped that rascal," the freshman lawmaker posted on his Facebook page Friday morning.

Obama regularly touts taking out bin Laden at his campaign events. At two New York City fundraisers on Thursday night, he pointed to bin Laden when describing how his administration has refocused America's military efforts on the terrorists who attacked on 9/11.

"Thanks to the incredible men and women in uniform, al Qaeda is weaker than it has ever been, and Osama bin Laden will never again walk the face of this Earth," Obama said at one event, to applause. Earlier in the night, he told another group of supporters, "Al Qaeda is weaker than it's ever been, and bin Laden is no more."

Get used to hearing that line. In addition to Obama's frequent references, Vice President Joe Biden has been telling campaign supporters the best way to sum up Obama's first term in "shorthand": “Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive.”

In the same post, West also took issue with Obama saying he doesn't "bluff" when it comes to being prepared for the possibility of taking action against Iran's nuclear facilities. In a Monday interview with the Atlantic, Obama said he believes the Israeli government "recognizes that, as president of the United States, I don't bluff."

"I agree with President Obama that he does not bluff, he prefers apologizing," West wrote, referring to Obama's apology to Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai for the burning of Qurans at a U.S. airbase. "Simply stated, talk is cheap when dealing with despots, dictators, autocrats, and theocrats."

People should defer to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when it comes to dealing with Iran "instead of a community organizer," West said, referring to Obama's work in Chicago in the 1980s.

First of all, Obama deserves all the credit for taking the risk to take out OBL in a country we're not at war with.   A move like that took balls of steel.   I very much doubt many people would have been brave enough to do the same thing.   Especially Bush.

Also, is "apologizing" the new term for diplomacy in the GOP?   Because if it is, then "apologies" are doing wonders for us in terms of getting what we want from hostile nations.

I love how the GOP politicians want to still paint Obama as a community organizer when he's shown some real balls in foriegn policy.   Just look at his record.   He's been even more vigilant in taking out terrorists than GWB.   I don't think you can hang the "wimp" label on Obama in any way shape or form.

These dick heads are literally running against a president that only exists in their minds.

What, is Obama only allowed to take credit for it if he kills OBL with his own bare hands?

I guess a president should never have any other kind of job before they get into office, or they'll be dismissed as having held that job for the rest of their lives.

Does West not have handlers whose exact job it is to whisper to him "hey, um, you're not gonna get anywhere arguing the Bin Laden thing, maybe just say something about jobs or gays"?

Obama needs to just walk up and challenge these pussies to a Holmgang right now.

And no, that's not just because I want to see Obama cutting a man's head off with a Viking sword...though it is one of the reasons.

My (Washington) State's caucus is tomorrow.  I've barely heard anything about it from local news outlets,

This is very much Ron Paul county.  Mittens with Paul second is my guess for the of the delegates in the state.

also, while the coffee is still kicking in....I can't remember where I heard/read it but I thought this statement was spot on...something to the effect- "if these millionaire/billionaires can afford to give million dollar+ contributions to their favorite GOP nominee (employee), they can't bitch one iota about having their taxes raised."

The tape thing is such utter horseshit.  First of all, who the fuck had a video camera in college in the 80s?  Those big ass VHS ones, where you looked like a member of the news media?  Also, didn't Obama describe in detail all the crazy things he did in college in his book?  So what "surprises" could there be?

I'm so over being enraged.  I can't wait for BHO to slam dunk this and see these assholes shit their pants.  I, for one, hope that BHO reveals himself on November 3 to be the Kenyan, atheist Muslim that he really is--hell bent on creating a new caliphate in America.  Just so they can all get a heart attack and go join Breitbart in the UTTER NOTHINGNESS THAT IS THE AFTERLIFE BECAUSE GOD IS A FANTASY AND ALL THAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DIE IS YOU'RE DEAD.

Andrew Breitbart: Death of a Douche

Quote:

UPDATE: Well done, Breitbart fans, well done! In less than 24 hours you’ve hacked into my Wiki page, published my telephone number on Twitter, called the Rolling Stone offices pretending to be outraged “advertisers” (anonymous ones, who hung up before we could figure out which “ads” to pull), and then spent all night calling and texting my phone with various threats and insults, many of them directed at my family. “Better grow eyes in the back of your head,” was one; “I’m going to take a shit on your mother’s grave,” was another; a third called my wife a “piece of shit like you,” and many others called me a “pile of human excrement.”

It's a well used and overused trope for the right wing it seems.   Spread a rumor there's a tape out there somewhere with incriminating evidence that a person wants squashed.   The beauty part is that it not showing up "confirms" a cover up by the party who will be destroyed if the "tape" ever got out.   We saw this with the rumor that there's a tape of Michelle Obama using the term "whitey" ( I love her reaction to that in "Game Change" where she says "Whitey?!? I'm much cooler than that to use that term"), and then Sean Hannity supposedly had a tape of Obama not wanting to kill Osama bin Laden, and now this college video nonsense.

I can say without a doubt that Breitbert was full of shit at CPAC.   He wanted to get a rumor started and nothing more.   As for Matt Taibbi's obit, aside from the title and the provocative opening paragraph, it was quite affectionate.   The guy was a titanic asshole but he was respected in a way by his peers in a strange way.

In other news, Obama proves how awesome he is by personally calling Sandra Fluke to see how she's doing....

This quote made me choke up a bit (maybe because we're expecting a daughter)....

Quote:
"He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women," she told Mitchell, who received permission from the White House to discuss the exchange between Fluke and Obama. "What was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud. And that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. So I just appreciated that very much."

Obama's just a class act.

I heard about the Limbaugh story. It's typical shock-jock shit that he's been allowed to get away with for years. To imply that any woman who uses birth control is an uncontrollable slut is just ignorant. Then to imply that he should at least get to watch...wow. How many times has Rush been married?

I have two daughters, four and one, and shudder when I hear Rush's opinion on women. We should have gotten over this a long fucking time ago. Instead, we allow all sorts of misogynistic opinions to gain valuable air-time.

Regardless, this is the type of crap that Limbaugh gets off on. Maybe I'll go listen to Bill Hicks talk about what gets Rush excited.

I can see Limbaugh eventually trying to play it up as "just having fun...not to be taken seriously...radio banter" But I think this time he seriously crossed the 'good taste' line. (not that he hasn't in the past)

I see that a couple companies stopped advertising on that fat fuck's show...one can only hope that this is the beginning of the downfall of Limbaugh.

IMO, a dissenting voice needs to be able to be heard if we are to have a healthy democracy in this country, the kind of hateful, misogynistic rhetoric spewed by Limbaugh and those of his ilk are not good for that health.

I bet that Limbaugh totally jerks off to the end of REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, only reaching release when Jared Leto is in bed missing an arm.

Hell, even Boehner said Rush's remarks were "inappropriate". That's probably as close as anyone on the right will come to calling him on his assholery.

Really?  Boehner said that?  I thought Limbaugh was the head of the party ever since Michael Steele had to recant calling him an 'entertainer'

So you think any of Limbaugh's routine is going to help the contenders?  Because it seems like even Santorum is backing off the hard-right talking points lately.

He's always been a profoundly stupid, terrible asshole, but he managed to out-terrible asshole himself with this. It's obvious that he has no clue that birth control is used for other things besides not getting all babied up, much less how it even works.

Him calling her a slut and asking for sex tapes is even worse, and after having made the mistake of reading some comments on articles about it, it never fails to amaze me how one comment from their dipshit windbag overlord whips them into a frenzy of terrifyingly misogynistic bullshit.

It's amazing to see how a lot of right-wingers will occasionally lose it and just completely lapse into full-on hateful douchebag mode. I hope he gets more advertisers pulled, because he's been using his pulpit to be a bullying prick for the longest time and I'm crossing my fingers that people are cottoning to it and getting sick of it. The Dittoheads will still be faithful until he croaks while on an Oxycontin bender in a brothel in the Dominican Republic, and then they'll canonize him, but that was probably never going to change anyway.

The worst part about all this though is that it illustrates just how much the right-wing fucking hates casual sex. HATES it. People are howling about having to pay for her birth control, having to pay for her to have sex, and some of them are even saying "welp if my money's going toward it I might as well get a piece of the action, hurr hurr", and it's just despicable shit.

And please correct me if I'm wrong, but my insurance benefits are part of my compensation package. It's part of my fucking income. My employer has absolutely ZERO right to tell me how to use my health benefits, any more than my employer is allowed to disapprove of how I spend my goddamn paycheck.

Jon Stewart made that very same point last night on The Daily Show.  How do employers know their employees aren't buying condoms with the money they're paid?  Where does this slope end?

Stewart also brought up that Viagra is covered. That is the definition of hypocrisy.

Plus birth control pills can be prescribed for reasons other than preventing pregnancy.  They're often used to regular menstrual cycles, or prevent them altogether for women for whom they're incredibly painful.

While of course doing nothing to take action against them. And I expect we'll see him apologize to the Dittohead base soon enough.

This is what I mean when I say the right is locked into a death spiral. They literally can't stop being stupid and crazy and hateful without losing crucial support.

Preeeecisely. Most of the women I know who take it use it to regulate their periods and alleviate horrifying cramps/cystic issues. BUT HEY SLUTS RIGHT RUSH ALL WOMEN ARE GOOD FOR ARE FUCKIN'.

The medical issue is actually what Sandra Fluke was going to testify about but according to them the commission wasn't about birth control at all but religious freedom.

I think Bill Maher's New Rules tonight were pretty sobering.  A lot of people high-five each other over Limbaugh's comments.  It's not going to be a slam dunk for Obama.  A lot of people live in this sick, regressive bubble this deliberate partitioning of actual news and propaganda has wrought.  And evidently women are now public enemy #1, even to other women (who live in the bubble).

No personal offense meant to any of you but the matter shouldn't really have to be debated on the medical reasons bullshit. Fuck medical reasons. What if a woman wants to use this so she can have a more active sex life? Whose business is it? Why should anyone, much less this corrupt fucking swine, have a say?

I agree wholeheartedly, but it's sort of the de facto approach one has to take here in the States because of our culture's moronically bipolar attitude towards sex. We can put that 19 year-old girl on the teevee in naught but a couple of rags covering her dirtyparts and have her allude to sex throughout all her songs, but actually getting down to business? IMMORAL!

This would be a great time to ask Rush about all that Viagra he brought to the Dominican Republic for his sex tour.   If he needs Viagra to get it up, the Universe is trying to tell him something.   Namely, stop being such a man slut and stop infecting the gene pool.

I think the Republicans are acting this way because they know they don't have much more time.   The demographics are against them and the majority of American will naturally be a Democratic one.   They'll regroup and change in a few years to accomodate this but for right now they are on a kamikaze run on getting everything on their wishlist passed.

Lets not forget that Rush has been married four times and has no children. Thank God he isn't breeding, but him or the misses is clearly using birth control. Or all four Mrs Limbaughs were too disgusted to have sex with him.

There is something incredibly surreal about this attack on birth control.  It's like the Republican base wants to erase everything that's happened since the '50s.  I see it just as an attack on women.  Fundamentalist cultures always try to keep women down, which is why poverty, hunger and chaos are so prevalent in Afghanistan and other countries where fundamentalist religions have stripped women of all rights.  But the really creepy thing for me (and I know I sound like a broken record)-- I understand how certain types of men (the Santorum variety) can hate/fear women on a deeply unconscious level, but what's up with the women who rally around these crazy efforts?

Maybe Angela Morabito is trying to be Mrs Rush number five. By using birth control Sandra is taking responsibility for her actions. Not to be over-dramatic, but if Obama doesn't win, maybe moving to Vancouver would be a good idea. The city has beaches, mountains and a NHL team.

Rush Limbaugh Apologizes To Sandra Fluke For Calling Her A 'Slut'

"For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices."
