Well done, Erik. Tremendously moving, and it had the pleasant side effect of getting me even more pumped for Conan's debut. Thanks for sharing, that was excellent.

I was a little hesitant about doing this. I've always been really open about this stuff, but not on this size of a stage. But the idea came to me and I thought it would make a nice piece, if maybe a little melodramatic. Melodrama or no, it's right from the heart.

I'm glad you all liked it.

Funny thing is, at the time that Conan shit was happening I was no doubt thinking something along the lines of, "Sure it's a bummer for Conan and us fans, but there are plenty of other people out there right now with real problems." But as much as I can so easily dismiss a mutli-millionaire's problems as minor, I should have realised that when said multi-millionaire is someone like Conan then his problems can mean a lot to those people like you who have had real problems.

Great piece Erik. Whatever your problems, take comfort in the fact that you're a better man than most.

Oftentimes we forget that it's things like this one that provide examples of a mostly overlooked fact. That entertainment, whether it's music, theater or in this case late night TV, is meant to have such profound effects. In fatc this was entertainment's primary goal.

Great article Erik. If I had your health problems I would probably curl up in ball and hide from the world. Your doing the opposite.

And it wasn't a depressing article. It was profoundly moving and uplifting.
