Anyway, did a giveaway of "Four Nails" here at CHUD earlier this year and the response was crazy, ended up capping it at fifty and the feedback from readers has been great (the Amazon and blog reviews are appreciated as, well, they sell books). As I end up selling a lot of these things to CHUDizens, I figure the least I can do is mail you one if'n you don't have a Kindle/need something to prop up your three-legged couch/etc.

So, the first 25 people to PM me with their address will get a copy. I'll autograph them unless you say "Um...please refrain" and if you want me to inscribe it to you personally (hell, I'll claim that the book is me paying you back for "that mission in Managua in '03 where you saved my ass" if you want), just tell me what name you want.

And yes, I'll mail them anywhere in the world. I sent copies of "Cleaners" to military personnel in Kuwait, copies of "Four Nails" to Japan and I'm looking for new continents for "Selection" to conquer. Whatever floats your boat.

Still got a few left. Furthest ones going out so far are Germany and South Africa. At this rate, may push the limit up another 5 or 10.

Really freaking good. Finished the second story and onto the next one. "Meat" was short, sweet, and brutal and "Stuttering Hunter" was wildly original and funny. So far, well done.

So good! I read most of it on plane during vacation. This is kind of obvious at this point, but you're a really good writer, SJR. There were passages that genuinely creeped me out and stuck with me for a while afterward. The girlfriend made the mistake of reading over my shoulder a little during "Meat." That didn't last long.

I looked at your other stuff on Amazon and I'm glad to hear there are more stories about Bones. I really wanted to hear more about his world, and I didn't realize that I was reading a sequel. I really liked the noir feel that a couple of the stories had, so "The Enemies List" was the perfect way to end the book.

And yeah--whatever traumatic thing happened to you with rats in your childhood, I'm glad you've found an outlet to deal with it in your writing. Looking forward to more.

I've been so pleasantly surprised at how well Unnatural Selection ignores genre conventions. You turned both a monster spider yarn and a cynical, Philip K. Dick-ian dystopia fable into touching stories about the transitory nature of relationships. I'm tricked, but in the best way.

Thanks! "Spider" is a weird one. Everybody I know thinks it's about them and they're right.

Re: Andrew Eaton - I've got five or so more copies lying around here. If you and whoever else want to claim them, I have to hit the post office this week to send a bunch of Christmas presents out anyway and will totally drop one (ass cheap media mail, but yeah) out to you.
