Aronofsky and Weisz SPLIT

AFTER MORE THAN NINE YEARS TOGETHER, THEY REACH THE END OF THE ROAD

This is sad. They were one of my favorite celebrity couples. He is a visionary director who'd helmed some of the most powerful and affecting films of the past 15 years. She is a remarkably talented actress who just turned in one of my favorite performances of all time in AGORA as the Greek Philosopher Hypatia who spurned romantic pursuits in order to dedicate herself to safeguarding pagan virtue and the study of astronomy

Whenever I saw a project that one or the other of them had been involved with, I always liked thinking about the fact that they had found a fulfilling relationship in each others company

I'll have to work on getting used to this new reality where they're no longer an item

EDIT: Just noticed that Daniel Craig has been singled out as a possible cause for the split. I like Craig quite a bit so I'm torn here

Gentlemen, the line to console Ms. Weisz forms right over here.

I wonder which one of them Craig had the affair with?

Maybe Darren just caught her flicking herself off to QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

It wasn't entirely Daniel Craig's fault. He was attending a dinner party of theirs and brought up Euthanasia, the one taboo subject they totally disagree on. Weisz believes in a patient's right to die, and Aronofsky once had an uncle wake up after being in a coma for 10 years. It started a fight, ruined the party, and, ironically, ended with Aronofsky wrecking his car and going into a coma, where Craig kept insensitively asking Weisz why she wasn't pulling the plug.

Hopefully, he told her about that itch. Down there.
Don't cry for Aronofsky, he's probably boning Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, or both.
She warned him about taking that damned comic book job, but he wouldn't listen.

This saddens me.

That's because she knew what he can do with his little finger.

The article states that Weisz had been linked to Craig

I'd really hope that his involvement in XMO:W2 didn't play a role in souring their relationship

The Aronofsky suicide watch begins now.

Ah, so that's what happened to that Jackie O biopic!
I had no idea either of them were married. I guess I can go back to thinking that now.

Silly me, when I think of him I think of his films.

And when I think of her...well, never mind what happens when I think of her.

"Do you think I should have said yes to that last Mummy movie?"
"I told you if you ask me that again I'm out of here."

It's an association I have, not the only one. That's why I said of him:

That would have been bad for her career. They wanted her to play the mom of a 24 year old actor. She needs to have people think of her as youthful in order to get certain roles (like AGORA, where she was playing 19 for the first hour of the movie). That was her stated reason for turning it down

Does anyone else finds Princess Kate to be a very disturbing person?

If she was a real person, then...maybe.
If my wife/gf/partner, whatever, told me she was fucking her co-star, and that co-star was Daniel Craig, the first thing I'd say is: "Well...yeah."

If Aronofsky's is as smart as I think he is, he should have set his watch to the moment when Weisz would succumb to Craig's deep-dicking skills.

Are you pretending to be pretending you have this feelings?

She Weiszed up.

This is actually inconvenient for me as my stalking schedule is already a bit busy with Carey Mulligan, but I will absolutely make the time.
Never a happy thing to see a family busted up, but hey, life's too short to spend in a relationship that you don't want to be in.
I hope their split had nothing to do with Aronofsky's acceptance of the job as the new director of Wolverine 2.

Well, they were like a remake of Mendes and Winslet, so it only made sense it would end this way.

Gives this man the green boxes. Give him all the green boxes.

I don't care about this. I don't know why anyone else cares about this. They do great work but their personal lives aren't any of my business or concern.

Damn, and I was just getting used to the new reality where there were cheeseburger doritos. What will I do now that two people I don't know aren't fucking each other?

You're right! I walked out of the house and up was down, the sky was green, the grass was blue, cab drivers could actually obey traffic laws, and cats and dogs were living together. How naive I was to think that the dissolving of a relationship between two people that no one here knows personally was of no great significance. Never again shall I doubt Kate and her intuition pertaining to such events.

I think people are mistaking my meaning. When I was writing about this, I had to try and describe my reaction to the news. They are as you point out total strangers and their romance or lack there of has no real impact on my life. Yet at the same time I did get a vicarious thrill from seeing such talented and well suited people collaborating on an interpersonal venture.

So, after I wrote about how I was a fan of Aronoweiszki*, I was faced with the writing challenge of describing my feelings now that they were no longer involved. Was I "depressed"? Well, no. "Upset"? "Disappointed"? None of the above

Basically I just am faced with the task of rewiring synaptic connections and generating new mental associations when I think of the two. Instead of thinking "Aronofsky+Weisz=Couple", it's now "Aronofsky+Weisz=/=Couple"

That is a new reality. I didn't mean to suggest it was a mind bending brave new world, simply that it was a development I needed to make a mental effort (however slight) to integrate into my world view

*that is humor and not a serious name I've invented

I hope he uses any pent up rage he's harvesting to make one brutal Wolverine film.

What better time for a happy ending than this, the Holiday Season?

Rachel Weisz may be the new Bond girl. But in real life!

Weisz, who announced her split in November with director Darren Aronofsky after nine years and one child, was seen getting Christmas cozy with 'Dream House' co-star and current James Bond, Daniel Craig.

The UK tabloid News of the World (via The Daily Mail), reports that the pair rented a winter cottage together in the countryside, and were not shy about getting cozy when they went out to a local pub.

"Daniel and Rachel looked like a romantic couple in a film. They were laughing and hanging on to each other's words and stopping to take photos of each other," one witness said. Added another: "They were clinging to each other like honeymooners. The chemistry was obvious."
(emphasis and exclamation point mine)

I think this ARONOFSKY SPLIT turned out for the best, all things considered. Weisz and Craig make a great couple, and if they hit it off, they would be an ideal celebrity pairing IMHO. I've been a long time super fan of each one individually, and if they were to ally it would only increase their appeal ten fold!

Best of luck and a Merry Boxing Day to the new couple

If Mendes steals her from Craig, this will have the ultimate ending.
THIS JUST IN: Sam Mendes has dropped out from directing the next Bond film. Darren Aronofsky has also dropped from "The Wolverine" citing "creactive differences." However, it has been confirmed that Aronofsky has taken the Bond gig and rumor has it Bond will die in the first ten minutes, and will be replaced by Robert Pattinson. "We're skewing younger," stated Aronofsky with a wink and his arms around the shoulders of Mila Junis and Natalie Portman.

It would be fantastic if EON tried to capitalize on this new Craig/Weisz publicity by casting Weisz in the next BOND movie. She would ably rise to the challenge and make for a compelling lead when cast against Craig, no doubt (IMHO). She is an intelligent, talented actress with past experience in the action adventure genre (just like Eva Green ). Her casting would reaffirm a commitment to bringing audiences a more mature, grounded and gritty Bond franchise

With preproduction for BOND 23 finally beginning to get under way, the opportunity presented by the timing of such a casting announcement strikes me as too serendipitous to squander
