TRON THING #1286

Another new trailer.

That technology for de-aging Bridges still looks remarkably shitty and unconvincing. It's the only visual blight in what looks to be an otherwise extremely well-designed film, technically.
In before the "young Bridges looks weird!!!!" folks to say I still think it looks like a blast.

EDIT: Missed it by *that* much.

Still not sold. I don't think they do themselves any favors with the clunky exposition from a reporter. I'll see it I'm sure, but in 1995 this would have been fan-fiction.

"He is our Destinyyyyy!"?!? Ugh.

Other than this it does look visually stunning. But that is a prerequisite for this movie I guess. Still very intrigued though.

Have my ticket already. Yes, I'm THAT excited.

Looks great.
Nitpick - but why wouldn't Bruce Boxheimer know about the TRON computer world? At the end of the original Bridges ran up to them. Surely he would have told them.
YES! This movie just got upgraded to "must see". Excellent trailer.

Really? What more do you want from a trailer?

It looks really cool. It's Syd Mead World in HD. If the other stuff is up to the standard the visuals set, we're in for a very nice surprise.

Tron Legacy, Looks...Awe-Inspiring! I cannot wait to see it in theaters. I think de-aged Jeff Bridges looks fine. The reason, he is a little off, is that he is...EEEEEEEvil! There is not much else to see in 2010. Faster, The Warrior's Way, and Tron Legacy, are truly, the creme of the crop, of the last 2 months of...2010.

All the chase stuff (light cycles, planes, cars) looks utterly boring and unengaging imo. It's pretty but I'm hardly going to be on the edge of my seat when those scenes take place. But the "indoor" stuff in the Tron world looks very interesting, but who is that dude playing the main character? Not getting a good vibe off of him, that's for sure.

I am...Wilde about Olivia, and all the Light vehicles on display, especially the Cycle, the jet, and the halo jumpers. The actor playing Sam Flynn, Garrett Hedlund, seems ok, too.

Same. The lead actor comes across as Hayden Christiansen 2.0, the action seems slick but kind of lifeless. Plus when you lose the weird rough-edged early CGI vibes of the original, I'm not sure the Tron world is even that exciting. Technically it's obviously very good, the girls are nice, lots of Jeff is nice (for all the uncanny-vallyness of it, the Young Bridges thing is an interesting experiment). Doesn't look terrible by any means but it'll take some happy reactions to make it a must see for me.

A reason to see a movie. I just can't get exited over the look and feel of this film. And the story from the trailer does little for me.

So, is the INCEPTION boom going to become a trailer standard now?

Gotta agree with Dre. Then again, my distaste for the original is pretty well documented, and nothing about this says that it's a stand alone piece from that one. It's like SUPERMAN RETURNS slaving itself to the Donner films, without the part where people had actually seen the Donner films, and probably about half as effective.

Greg Clark, Um, What is an...Inception Boom?

Well, 1946 was.

Also, this is.

Greg Clark, Thank you for the update. Although, The...original Tron might have had a similar sound when the, Recognizers appeared.

Surely you mean conception boom?

Anyway, wasn't the 'boom' on the first trailer also?..
It's a goosebump-inducing trailer the movie will hopefully live up to.
I found this the weakest of the three trailers by far. I think the first, more conceptual trailer was the best for raising interest (and I also LOVED the teaser featuring the light cycle race).

But unless critical mass from trusted sources is really negative, I'm seeing this.
So far the Daft Punk heavy Derezzed clip is easily the best piece of promotion for this.

Garrett Hedlund, who from what I've seen is a damn good actor and miles ahead of someone like Christensen. He was fantastic and almost unrecognisable as the villain in Death Sentence.

As for the trailer... meh. I preferred when they weren't giving so much away.
I am not THAT impressed. But I can imagine having a good time at this.

A little undecided if I should watch it in 3D though. Will you?
Fusion camera = 3D ticket sold
Felix, I already bought my ticket to, Tron Legacy, in...3D! Of the...3D films I see, they are only the films...Shot, in 3D. Tron Legacy looks both...Awe-Inspiring and Awesome! I ordered the soundtrack yesterday as well.

The computer world looks a little bit more 'real' in a bad way. My memories of the original include the funny solar sail traveling across abstract landscapes. This seems to be a world of glass, neon lights and the odd splash of yellow paint, but otherwise a bit normal.
